Fernandez agrees AC Milan loan
AC Milan left it late but managed to secure the services of Mati Fernandez prior to the Serie A transfer deadline passing on Wednesday.
The Fiorentina midfielder will link up with former coach Vincenzo Montella at San Siro on loan, with Milan holding an option to make the deal permanent.
Fernandez made 27 appearances for Fiorentina last season as the Viola finished fifth - earning them a Europa League spot.
However, he will not play in Europe this season after agreeing a temporary switch to Milan as part of Montella's attempt to revitalise the fallen Serie A giants.

Montolivo facing surgery on cruciate injury
AC Milan have announced that midfielder Riccardo Montolivo damaged a cruciate ligament in his knee in Italy's draw with Spain on Thursday.
The 31-year-old was carried off on a stretcher after half an hour of the 1-1 draw in Turin, having come off worse in a collision with Sergio Ramos, and was sent for tests to determine the damage.
Milan have now confirmed that he will require surgery, meaning he faces a long spell on the sidelines.
Montolivo has been blighted by a succession of injury problems in recent seasons.
He was denied a place at the World Cup in 2014 after suffering a broken leg and was forced to miss EURO 2016 due to a calf muscle problem.
The Milan captain had played in all seven of his side's Serie A matches this season prior to earning a recall to Giampiero Ventura's squad for the World Cup qualifiers this month.

Milan worry over Romagnoli fitness
AC Milan will likely have to make do without the services of Alessio Romagnoli in Sunday's derby clash with Inter due to a groin injury.
The centre-back suffered a knock in Tuesday's 0-0 international friendly draw between Italy and Germany and made way for Davide Astori at half-time.
It is not yet known how long the 21-year-old will be out of action, but a return in time to face Inter seems unlikely at this stage.
Romagnoli, 21-year-old, has been a key figure for Milan this term, making 11 Serie A appearances.

Bacca suffers thigh injury
AC Milan attacker Carlos Bacca faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a thigh injury in his side's 2-2 Serie A draw with rivals Inter at the weekend.
The Colombia international featured from the start in the Derby della Madonnina and set up Suso for the 2-1 lead shortly before the hour mark.
Bacca was forced to leave the pitch with a muscular problem in the 71st minute, though, and Milan have announced he has suffered a thigh injury.
The 30-year-old has scored 6 goals in 13 Serie A appearances this campaign, but has not found the net since his strike in the 4-3 win over Sassuolo on 2 October, going 6 matches without a goal.

Kucka out of Cagliari match
Juraj Kucka is out of Milan's encounter with Cagliari due to a knee injury, but Davide Calabria returns to the fold.
Midfielder Kucka left the training ground early today after aggravating a knee injury.
Coach Vincenzo Montella had mentioned they were being cautious with it, because the bruise is on the same spot where he had surgery.
Mati Fernandez and Riccardo Montolivo are still on the treatment table, but full-back Calabria returns after a 3-month absence.

Bonaventura signs new AC Milan contract
AC Milan have announced that midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura has extended his contract at the club until 2020.
The 27-year-old has signed a new 3-and-a-half-year deal to commit his future to San Siro until the end of the 2019-2020 campaign.
Bonaventura has played a key role in Milan's progress under Vincenzo Montella this season, having only missed 2 games in all competitions, while he scored the equaliser before converting in the penalty shootout as they beat Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana in December.
The Italy international, who signed from Atalanta for a reported fee of €7 million in 2014, has scored 4 goals and registered 6 assists in 19 matches this season.

AC Milan complete Deulofeu loan signing
AC Milan have completed the signing of Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu on loan until the end of the season, the Italian club have confirmed.
The Spain winger moved to Goodison Park on a permanent deal in 2015 having impressed on loan on Merseyside during the 2013-2014 campaign.
Defulofeu has struggled for game time under Ronald Koeman this term, though, and has just 4 Premier League starts to his name.
Milan were soon credited with an interest in his services in the January transfer window, but the move was thought to have stalled over the Serie A club's reluctance to pay a loan fee.
Deulofeu came through the youth ranks at La Liga giants FC Barcelona, but struggled to break into the first team at Camp Nou and spent time on loan at FC Sevilla in the 2014-2015 campaign.
Milan announced the signing of the 22-year-old after confirming their squad for Saturday's Serie A encounter against fellow high-flyers Napoli at San Siro, with Deulofeu not included.
