Bielsa appointed Lille coach from next season
Marcelo Bielsa has signed a 2-year contract to take over as Lille head coach from the start of next season, the Ligue 1 club have confirmed.
The former Argentina coach will return to the French top flight having guided Olympique Marseille to a 4th place finish in 2014-2015.
Only champions Paris Saint-Germain outscored a swashbuckling Marseille that season but Bielsa quit after losing the opening game of the following campaign to Caen.
There was further evidence of the 61-year-old's infamous volatility when he was named Lazio coach in July last year, only to resign 2 days later amid claims the Serie A side had made no progress towards his requested transfer targets.
Last week, Lille appointed Franck Passi - a former assistant to Bielsa at Marseille - as interim head coach until the end of this season.
Passi replaced Patrick Collot, who took charge after Frederic Antonetti was sacked in November.

Mbappe beats Henry, Martial & Benzema to Ligue 1 milestone
AS Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe has become the youngest player in the last 30 years to score 10 Ligue 1 goals after netting against Nantes on Sunday - a record previously held by Ousmane Dembele.
The France youth international broke into the Monaco team last season, scoring once in the league, and had already struck 7 times in the French top tier this term ahead of the clash at Stade Louis II.
And Mbappe, who impressed in his side's Champions League thriller against Manchester City, fired another two fine efforts past Nantes' Maxime Dupe before half-time to take his overall league tally to 10.
The 18-year-old is now the youngest player to reach that number in the past 30 seasons, while his record in all competitions in this campaign stands at 15 goals from 29 games.
Mbappe is in esteemed company with his return in front of goal at such a young age, taking the record from Borussia Dortmund's Dembele, who last year topped World Cup winner Thierry Henry's efforts.
Anthony Martial, Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema are among the other players to net 10 Ligue 1 goals before their 20th birthdays, while David Trezeguet - also a member of France's World Cup-winning squad - has now been pushed down to 10th youngest to the milestone since 1987.

Xabi Alonso confirms retirement
Bayern Munchen midfielder Xabi Alonso have confirmed that he will retire from football at the end of the season.
The former Spain international, who won a World Cup and 2 European Championships with La Furia Roja, had reportedly announced his retirement from football at the start of the year.
However, there was no official confirmation from Bayern or Alonso, although that changed today when both parties announced his departure from the game at the end of the season.
Alonso, who this week helped his Bayern side thrash Arsenal 10-2 over two legs in the Champions League, has enjoyed a glittering career in the game.
After starting his career with Real Sociedad's B team back in 1999, the central midfielder spent 4 years there in the first team - he also had a spell on loan with Eibar - before joining Liverpool in 2004.
Alonso won the Champions League with the Reds - he netted in the famous comeback against AC Milan in Istanbul - as well as the FA Cup, Community Shield and SuperCup under Rafa Benitez, before a move to Real Madrid.
The 35-year-old won the Champions League, 2 Copa del Reys and La Liga during his time in the Spanish capital, before moving to Germany in 2014 where he has won 2 Bundesliga titles and a DFB Pokal.

Leverkusen appoint Korkut
Bayer Leverkusen have appointed Tayfun Korkut as interim coach until the end of the season, the club announced on Monday.
After parting company with Roger Schmidt on Sunday, Leverkusen confirmed the arrival of former Hannover and FC Kaiserslautern coach Korkut on a short-term deal less than 24 hours later.
After coaching junior teams in Spain and Germany as well as a brief stint as Turkey's assistant coach, Korkut's first major role in the dug-out came when he took over from Mirko Slomka at Hannover in December 2013.
Coincidentally, he lost his job with the 96ers following a 13-game winless run, the final match of which was a 4-0 defeat to Leverkusen in April 2015.
Korkut, 42-year-old, returned to football when he took over as head coach at FC Kaiserslautern last summer, but resigned on 27 December.

Advocaat to retire at end of season
Former Holland and South Korea coach Dick Advocaat announced he would retire once he leaves Fenerbahce at the end of the season.
Advocaat, 69-year-old, has been in charge of the Turkish club since August last year, having resigned at Sunderland in October 2015.
The Dutchman said on Friday he was retiring, with Fenerbahce sitting 4th in the Turkish Super Lig.
"Finally, I will leave here at the end of the season", Advocaat said.
"I don't mind announcing my decision early."
A former midfielder and defender, Advocaat was Holland coach on two occasions, from 1992-1994 and 2002-2004.
He was also at the helm of South Korea, Russia and Belgium internationally, while most of his success came at club level.
Advocaat led PSV to an Eredivisie title, helped Glasgow Rangers to two league crowns and numerous cups and also won the league with Zenit Sankt Petersburg in Russia.
He also saw Zenit to the 2008 UEFA Cup crown when they beat his former club Glasgow Rangers 2-0 in the Final in Manchester.

Neuer undergoes foot operation
Manuel Neuer has undergone a minor foot operation and will miss Bayern Munchen's next 2 Bundesliga fixtures.
The Germany goalkeeper pulled out of the World champions' squad for the recent internationals against England and Azerbaijan with a calf problem cited as the reason.
Bayern claim he has subsequently sustained a foot injury in training ahead of Saturday's game with FC Augsburg at the Allianz ArenA.
That would clear Neuer - who has not missed a top flight game since 2015 - to return for the visit of Borussia Dortmund on 8 April.

Dortmund missing Germany quartet for Schalke derby
Borussia Dortmund will be without a quartet of Germany internationals for Saturday's Ruhr derby clash with Schalke.
Thomas Tuchel expected to be without Marco Reus and Mario Gotze for the trip to Gelsenkirchen but has been dealt another blow with the news winger Andre Schurrle and full-back Erik Durm, as well as former Bayern Munchen midfielder Sebastian Rode, will also be absent.
On the plus side, Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa is fit, while Tuchel will wait on Christian Pulisic to see how the United States international looks after a long midweek journey.

Celtic have now won 6 consecutive Scottish Premiership titles.
Brendan Rodgers arrived at Parkhead with many anticipating a fierce title battle as Glasgow Rangers made their top flight return, but his side have been utterly ruthless this term.
The Bhoys remain unbeaten in the league and victory at Hearts of Midlothian was their 28th in 30 games this season - only Rangers last month and Inverness in September have taken points off Celtic.
