Wenger rules out Diaby for EURO 2012
Arsene Wenger has ruled out Abou Diaby for EURO 2012 due to injury.
The injury-plagued France international has missed the majority of the campaign due to ankle and hamstring problems yet appeared to be fit heading into the summer.
However, the former Auxerre man picked up a calf strain in Arsenal's 1-1 draw against Stoke City last weekend and looks unlikely to feature again this season.
Diaby has only made 4 appearances this season for the Gunners in all competitions.

Pieters ruled out of EURO 2012
Holland have been rocked by the news that Erik Pieters will miss EURO 2012.
Just hours after the defender was included in Bert van Marwijk's provisional 36-man squad for Poland and Ukraine he was rocked by the news he would miss the tournament.
The PSV full-back has been struggling with a foot injury and was informed by ankle specialist Dr. Nie van Dijk on Monday that he will not be able to play at the tournament.
"Just back from the hospital", Pieters wrote on Twitter.
"Bad news from Dr. Van Dijk. No chance for EURO 2012. Thanks for your support."
Van Marwijk moved swiftly to replace Pieters in his squad with Vitesse's Alexander Buttner, but conceded that the loss of his first choice full-back was devastating for both player and country.
"This is a blow for us", the Dutch boss told the KNVB's official website.
"But it's obviously even more disappointing for Erik."
Low names 27-man Germany squad
Joachim Low has named a 27-man Germany squad to compete for EURO 2012.
With many star players arriving late because of club commitments, Low has selected an expanded team to travel to Sardinia on Friday.
And given the opportunity to experiment, Low has selected Monchengladbach's Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Schalke's Julian Draxler.
Having only celebrated his 20th birthday last week, goalkeeper Ter Stegen earns his first call-up, as does the 18-year-old winger Draxler. Additionally, Low has recalled Ilkay Gundogan.
Low opted not to recall Patrick Helmes, Mike Hanke and Stefan Kiessling, choosing Cacau as his third striker alongside Miroslav Klose and Mario Gomez. Additionally, Marko Marin, Simon Rolfes, Christian Trasch and Dennis Aogo will miss out on the tournament.
The coach will be without many of his key players as he begin preparations later this week.
Sven Bender, Mario Gotze, Mats Hummels and Marcel Schmelzer will be with Dortmund until 12 May, when the DFB Pokal Final takes place.
As well, Real Madrid duo Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira will not join the national team until after their final La Liga match on 13 May.
But the greatest loss Low will suffer is the absence of 8 Bayern Munchen players - including captain Philipp Lahm and deputy Bastian Schweinsteiger - who will be with their club until after 22 May, when a friendly with Holland is scheduled.
Accordingly, he has named an expanded squad, which will be trimmed to 23 on 29 May.
Goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munchen), Marc-Andre ter Stegen (Monchengladbach), Tim Wiese (Hoffenheim), Ron-Robert Zieler (Hannover)
Defenders: Holger Badstuber (Bayern Munchen), Jerome Boateng (Bayern Munchen), Benedikt Howedes (Schalke), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munchen), Per Mertesacker (Arsenal), Marcel Schmelzer (Borussia Dortmund)
Midfielders: Lars Bender (Bayer Leverkusen), Sven Bender (Borussia Dortmund), Mario Gotze (Borussia Dortmund), Ilkay Gundogan (Borussia Dortmund), Sami Khedira (Real Madrid), Toni Kroos (Bayern Munchen), Mesut Ozil (Real Madrid), Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munchen), Marco Reus (Monchengladbach), Julian Draxler (Schalke),
Strikers: Cacau (VfB Stuttgart), Mario Gomez (Bayern Munchen), Miroslav Klose (Lazio), Thomas Muller (Bayern Munchen), Lukas Podolski (Arsenal), Andre Schurrle (Bayer Leverkusen)

Bilic to step down after EURO 2012
Slaven Bilic has announced he will step down as coach of Croatia's national team after EURO 2012.
The 43-year-old confirmed the news at a press conference today to unveil a provisional 27-man squad for the tournament in Poland and Ukraine.
Bilic took charge of Croatia in July 2006 and led the team to the quarter-finals at EURO 2008, although they failed to qualify for the World Cup 2 years later.
However, the former West Ham and Everton defender has now decided this summer's European Championship will be his swansong.
"This will be my last championship in charge", he said.
"I've given my best and I thank you all, but the hardest job is still ahead of me."
"I wish my successor all the happiness in the world and hope to leave him some continuity."
Bilic was unwilling to discuss reports linking him with the managerial post at Lokomotiv Moscow.
"I'm sure you never comment on speculation or rumours so I will not comment on the story of Lokomotiv Moscow. When something happens, I will announce it."
Bilic's immediate concern is EURO 2012, where Croatia will face defending champions Spain, Italy and Republic of Ireland in the group stages.
The most surprising absentees from his squad were Bolton striker Ivan Klasnic and SV Hamburg forward Mladen Petric, and Bilic admits it was not an easy decision to omit the pair.
"It was difficult not to call up Petric and Klasnic, but it's part of the job", he said.
"I called them both as they deserved to hear the decision directly from me."
"Unfortunately for these two, the greatest competition for places is in attack and there was simply no room for them."
Croatia's campaign begins against the Irish on 10 June. The squad will be trimmed down to 23 players before 28 May.
Croatia's provisional squad:
Goalkeepers: Stipe Pletikosa (Rostov), Danijel Subasic (AS Monaco), Ivan Kelava (Dinamo Zagreb), Goran Blazevic (Hajduk Split)
Defenders: Domogoj Vida (Dinamo Zagreb), Vedran Corluka (Bayer Leverkusen), Josip Simunic (Dinamo Zagreb), Dejan Lovren (Olympique Lyon), Sime Vrsaljko (Dinamo Zagreb), Gordon Schildenfeld (Eintracht Frankfurt), Ivan Strinic (Dnipro), Danijel Pranjic (Bayern Munchen), Jurica Buljat (Maccabi Haifa)
Midfielders: Darijo Srna (Shakhtar Donetsk), Tomislav Dujmovic (Real Zaragoza), Ognjen Vukojevic (Dynamo Kiev), Ivan Rakitic (FC Sevilla), Luka Modric (Tottenham), Ivan Perisic (Borussia Dortmund), Niko Kranjcar (Tottenham), Milan Badelj (Dinamo Zagreb), Ivo Ilicevic (SV Hamburg)
Forwards: Ivica Olic (VfL Wolfsburg), Nikica Jelavic (Everton), Mario Mandzukic (VfL Wolfsburg), Nikola Kalinic (Dnipro), Eduardo da Silva (Shakhtar Donetsk)

Advocaat announces Russia squad
Dick Advocaat has named his provisional 26-man squad for the upcoming European Championships.
The squad features a number of names that were instrumental in Russia's run to the EURO 2008 semi-finals, such as Andrey Arshavin, Roman Shirokov, Yuri Zhirkov, Igor Semshov and Aleksander Anyukov.
But experienced midfield pair Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and Vladimir Bystrov have been left out of the squad.
Another surprise was Advocaat's selection of Sporting Lisbon's Marat Izmailov for the first time in his tenure, thanks to the 29-year-old's tremendous club form since his return from a persistent knee injury.
It will be Izmailov's first involvement with the Russia team since 2006.
Advocaat has already announced he will step down as Russia coach after the tournament.
Squad:
Goalkeepers: Igor Akinfeyev (CSKA Moscow), Vyacheslav Malafeyev (Zenit Sankt Petersburg), Anton Shunin (Dynamo Moscow)
Defenders: Alexander Anyukov (Zenit Sankt Petersburg), Alexei Berezutsky (CSKA Moscow), Vasily Berezutsky (CSKA Moscow), Sergei Ignashevich (CSKA Moscow), Roman Sharonov (Rubin Kazan), Roman Shishkin (Lokomotiv Moscow), Vladimir Granat (Dynamo Moscow)
Midfielders: Igor Denisov (Zenit Sankt Petersburg), Roman Shirokov (Zenit Sankt Petersburg), Konstantin Zyryanov (Zenit Sankt Petersburg), Yuri Zhirkov (Anzhi Makhachkala), Alan Dzagoyev (CSKA Moscow), Igor Semshov (Dynamo Moscow), Denis Glushakov (Lokomotiv Moscow), Magomed Ozdoyev (Lokomotiv Moscow), Marat Izmailov (Sporting Lisbon), Dmitry Kombarov (Spartak Moscow)
Forwards: Andrei Arshavin (Zenit Sankt Petersburg), Alexander Kerzhakov (Zenit Sankt Petersburg), Roman Pavlyuchenko (Lokomotiv Moscow), Artem Dzyuba (Spartak Moscow), Alexander Kokorin (Dynamo Moscow), Pavel Pogrebnyak (Fulham)

Neville joins Hodgson at England
New England coach Roy Hodgson has sprung a major surprise by appointing Gary Neville to his coaching team.
The former Manchester United defender has signed a 4-year contract, which allows him to continue as a pundit for Sky Sports.
Neville will join Hodgson's team immediately and will be with the England squad next week as they begin preparations for EURO 2012.
Neville confirmed his retirement from the game in February 2010, having played 602 times for United and made 85 England appearances.
A member of that famed "Class of 92", he was widely acclaimed as the best right-back of his generation.
He was viewed as likely management material but instead took a pundits' role, for which he has received widespread praise and also did a column for The Mail on Sunday, which will continue outside of major tournaments.
Remy's EURO doubt
Olympique Marseille striker Loic Remy faces a race to be fit in time for EURO 2012 after picking up a thigh injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for up to a month.
The 25-year-old had to be substituted after 50 minutes of Marseille's 3-0 win against Auxerre on Sunday and, following tests today, he has been ruled out until the first week of June at the earliest.
"His unavailability should last 3 to 4 weeks", read a statement from the club.
Capped 17 times by Les Bleus, Remy will have to wait to see if he is included in Laurent Blanc's provisional list of France-based players for EURO 2012, which is due to be announced tomorrow.
France open their Group D campaign against England on 11 June, before facing Ukraine 4 days later and Sweden on 19 June.

The squad also includes plenty of familiar names such as Real Madrid trio Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe and Fabio Coentrao, Manchester United winger Luis Nani and Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles.
Portugal, who have never won the European Championships, face a tough test to make it through the opening phase in Ukraine and Poland having been drawn alongside Holland, Germany and Denmark in Group B.

Olsson makes Sweden's EURO squad
Jonas Olsson is looking forward to locking horns with his former West Bromwich manager Roy Hodgson at EURO 2012 after being included in Sweden's squad.
Olsson is set to take part in his first international tournament next month after being named in Sweden coach Erik Hamren's 23-man group and he will come up against at least one familiar face in the group stages with Hodgson the new England coach.
Hamren has also included Johan Elmander in his squad after receiving positive news about the experienced striker's fitness. Elmander suffered a foot injury playing for Galatasaray at the weekend but tests suggest the former Bolton player could be fit in time for the European Championships.
However, John Guidetti has been omitted as his rehabilitation following an infection will take longer. The 20-year-old Guidetti has been in fine goalscoring form for Feyenoord this season, where he has been on loan from Manchester City.
Sweden begin their EURO 2012 campaign against hosts Ukraine, then take on England and before finishing a clash against France.
Squad:
Goalkeepers: Par Hansson (Helsingborg), Andreas Isaksson (PSV Eindhoven), Johan Wiland (FC Copenhagen)

Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, who has been central to his side's surprise Ligue 1 title bid, has been rewarded with a maiden call-up, while there was also a slot for Olympique Marseille's Loic Remy despite the striker suffering a thigh injury at the weekend that is set to sideline him for 3 to 4 weeks.
