Ronaldinho: We Must Win The Derby
Ronaldinho has admitted that he hopes to play in this weekend’s Milan derby, but says that the most important thing is that the Rossoneri get the three points.
The last two matches, against FC Zurich and Lazio, Dinho has only featured as a second half substitute, and he may have to settle for this role on Sunday night when Milan take on Inter in the Derby.
"I have only been in Milan for a very short time, but I like the city very much and I feel fine,” Ronaldinho told Il Giorno.
“Already I feel the unique atmosphere of the Derby. I like to play a lot, but it is clear that I will respect any choice that my coach makes.
“The important thing is not whether I play or not, but that we win the game and get the points. However, if I go onto the field I will give everything.”

AC Milan vs. Inter restrictions imposed
Source: Football Italia
The Milan derby on September 28 hasn't been labelled “high risk”, but there will be some ticketing restrictions.
A number of games across the peninsula have been hit by supporter sanctions to try and reduce the risk of football-related violence.
However, Inter fans will be allowed to attend what is technically Milan's home game at San Siro on the evening of September 28.
But Milan councillor Gian Valerio Lombardi has announced that ticket sales for both sides will be restricted to one per person after a ruling by the Osservatorio - a committee set up to tackle violence at matches.

Pato Relishing Derby Test
Milan striker Alexandre Pato is urging fans to turn up in numbers for the derby against Inter this weekend and he is confident in his team's chances of success against the Nerazzurri.
"I am really happy for the goals I have scored in our recent matches but even more happy that we managed to win away from home," Pato told Milan News.
"The three points are good for us in terms of the league standings and for morale. Now we are waiting for our fans to come and support us on Sunday for the game against Inter.
"I am looking forward to the derby. When I get on the pitch I always look to do what the coach asks me to in the dressing rooms."
The Rossoneri will be hoping to end Inter's unbeaten run this season when they host the Nerazzurri on Sunday night.
AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti has announced to omit both Ronaldinho and Andrey Shevchenko for his side's clash with arch rivals Internazionale this weekend.
Ancelotti, on whom pressure has been mounting considering the disappointing results so far this season, feels that both players are not fit enough yet.
"Ronaldinho and Shevchenko don't belong to my starting eleven yet. We will have to wait until they are 100% fit", Ancelotti said in a press statement.
Ronaldinho joined AC Milan after 5 years at FC Barcelona, but hasn't been able to impress his coach so far. Shevchenko returned to Milan after two years at Chelsea.

Flamini: What crisis?
Source: Football Italia
Mathieu Flamini claims that Milan's problems were blown out of proportion but admits that the Rossoneri must win the Derby della Maddonina.
The Diavolo were left in the blocks at the start of the season after defeats against Bologna and Genoa.
But Carlo Ancelotti's men bounced back with the thrashing of Lazio last Sunday and an air of positivity has returned.
“There was never a crisis,” Flamini insisted in Il Giorno.
“Of course when you play for a great team like Milan you are expected to win consistently.
“Now we must carry on down this road by securing a win this evening.”
Milan have made the long trip to Reggio Calabria to face Reggina tonight but the weekend's derby is large on the horizon.
“The derby is a very important game,” Flamini said. “We will do everything to win, just as we will against Reggina.
“It will be interesting to take on Jose Mourinho's team. He is a great Coach and he has proved that over the last few years.
“From what I see in the newspapers he hasn't changed. He is always the same and he has a unique character that sets him apart from the others.”

Borriello better than Adebayor
Adriano Galliani revealed that he re-signed Marco Borriello because he is a better player than Emmanuel Adebayor.
Borriello who has started the season in blazing form with two goals in his last three matches will miss this weekend's titanic Milan derby through injury but will be available in a week's time.
"Experience tells me that even a little muscular problem will prevent you playing three days later," said Galliani.
"His replacement? I do not care, all that counts is that we win the derby.
"[We signed him] because director general Ariedo Braida told me that Borriello is better than Adebayor."
Brazilian youngster, Alexandre ‘The Duck' Pato, will most likely start upfront in place of Borriello after scoring the winning goal in midweek against Reggina.

This is the real Milan – Berlusconi
“This is the real Milan,” said Berlusconi. “I’m really satisfied because I saw four really great goals.
“Now we are waiting for the derby and the lads have promised a present for my birthday, which is on September 29.”
Berlusconi continued: “We have to grow by this is a squad with so many champions.
“Some people have said that we have too many stars, but I argue that you can never have too many.
“Alexandre Pato is a great champion and he scored a superb goal. Marco Borriello played very positively as a centre forward, which we always need.
“Ronaldinho came on and gave a show and Andriy Shevchenko is getting back to form after two years and I’m sure we will see the old Sheva soon.”
Gattuso: Gila weaker than Borriello
Italian hardman, Rino Gattuso has given the reason for which Alberto Gilardino failed to find his feet at AC Milan.
His three year stint at the San Siro was a miserable one with him spending most of his time on the bench.
The 26-year-old finally put an end to his misery in the summer when he made the move to Florence while Milan re-signed Marco Borriello from Genoa.
Gattuso who is renowned for his no-nonsense style of play believes that Gila was too weak mentally and succumbed to the hype that surrounded him.
"Borriello is made of much more stronger stuff than Gilardino," Gattuso told Milan Channel.
"Borriello has incredible drive inside him and physically he is a beast.
"The shirt of Milan weighs heavily, and with all due respect, it weighs much more than that of Fiorentina. To play for Milan you must have great personality."
Gilardino seems to have found his comfort zone at Fiorentina while Borriello has been a revelation since rejoining his former club.
Not A Decisive Derby - Maldini
Milan legend Paolo Maldini insists this weekend's derby against bitter city rivals Inter is not a decisive game in terms of the Scudetto race.
»Comments (35) Print This Story Send To A Friend Contact Us galleria zoom Il Capitano will play in his 55th derby for his club and the Rossoneri are expected to give Inter a tough game following their recent return to form.
Milan have undergone a revival over the past two weeks with back to back wins against Lazio and Reggina and they are hoping to carry their good form with them over the course of the season.
However, the stopper doesn't believe the game against Jose Mourinho's side will be a decider for the title.
“This derby is not a decisive game,” said Maldini.
“It's an important game but being at the beginning of the season, it doesn't matter if it goes wrong because there is still plenty of time to recover.
“The league always brings apprehension but we want to try and change things for the better.”
The Rossoneri will be hoping to derail the Inter juggernaut. The Nerazzurri are building a lead at the top of Serie A but a win for Milan will boost their Scudetto chances this term.

THE EVOLUTION OF THINGS
MAREK JANKULOVSKI
'Yesterday the player resumed training with the group. He has recovered and is available again.'
SANDRO NESTA
'Sandro is finishing the last work in the physiotherapy department. From Monday he will get back to the preparations and will presumably come back after the October international break. He is constantly improving. We'll see in the next few days when he will start working at a higher level.'
PIPPO INZAGHI
'Filippo will undergo a check on Monday morning. We will see how it turns out and if it will comfort us. He should be able to return on Tuesday.'
MARCO BORRIELLO
'Marco had a muscular problem to his left thigh. He was subjected to an ecographic test this morning. It's a slight problem which will keep him out for about ten days. Probably we can talk about it again after the break.'
ANDREA PIRLO
'Also Andrea had an ecography this morning which evidenced his progress. We will do another on 9 or 10 October. But he has improved notably.'
PHILIPPE SENDEROS
'The defender, who suffered an injury on Saturday before the match against Genoa, unfortunately is still feeling pain and is still unable to work with the group. We will evaluate him again in the first days of next week.'
Ronaldinho: Ready For The Derby
Milan star Ronaldinho admits he is ready for his first Derby Della Madonnina and he cannot wait to get amongst the action.
"It's a period where we are getting used to everything. I spain I played a different football than here but I am adapting and I think it will be much easier for me soon," said the Brazilian.
"The fans have always shown affection to me and I cannot wait to score my first goal. When I score it will be dedicated to all those who continue to show me affection.
"I am ready for the derby and hopefully I will play."
Dinho may start on the bench against Inter but coach Carlo Ancelotti is likely to use him at some point during the game. Milan will be hoping to gain maximum points from the derby or they could see their title hopes go up in smoke.
Kaka dismisses Mourinho jibes
AC Milan maestro Kaka has laughed off Inter Milan manager's Jose Mourinho comments in the aftermath of their Milan derby.
"I think Milan dominated the match and always tried to play attacking football," said Kaka.
"That negative moment has passed and now we have notched together a series of four victories and are playing very well."
The World Player of the Year then responded to the Portuguese' barbs by saying: "Mourinho makes me laugh, like when he said Dejan Stankovic's foul was really me pretending to be injured as a tactical choice. It's funny."
"It's wonderful to see Ronaldinho so happy and determined to become a decisive player again," said Kaka."
"He is working so hard and is on his way back. I am very glad he's here, as he has brought many things the team were missing."
A renăscut Ronaldinho!
