Inzaghi to reveal plans on Monday

Veteran striker Filippo Inzaghi will reveal where his future lies early next week.

The 38-year-old ended his 11-year stint with AC Milan last month and is a free agent.

Inzaghi, who is currently completing his coaching course in Coverciano, Florence, has been linked with a move to Fiorentina this summer.

"I will announce my future plans on Monday," Inzaghi said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The former Italy international is second behind former Real Madrid captain Raul on the list of all-time leading scorers in European competition with 70 goals

Flamini signs new deal

Mathieu Flamini has signed a new contract with AC Milan less than a week after the club announced the French midfielder would be let go.

AC Milan announced on their website on Tuesday that Flamini, who joined the Serie A club in 2008, had signed a one-year deal.

"Mathieu Flamini, who has been with the Rossoneri since 2008, will remain a Milan player next season", the club's statement said.

Silva pens new deal

AC Milan have finally ended Paris Saint-Germain's hopes of signing defender Thiago Silva by persuading the Brazilian to sign a new deal at San Siro.

PSG saw several bids for the commanding centre-half rebuffed last month and Milan have now convinced him his future lies with the Rossoneri.

Silva has signed a 5-year deal which ties him to the club until June 2017.

Silva, 27-year-old, joined AC Milan from Fluminense in the summer of 2009 and has since developed into one Europe's most coveted defenders.

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has claimed the club are selling striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and defender Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain.

The pair are reported to have joined the ambitious Ligue 1 outfit for a combined €65 million.

"Yes, I sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to PSG", Berlusconi was quoted as saying on Thursday night on gazzetta.it.

"We will save €150 million in 2 years."

Ibrahimovic, who was Serie A's top scorer last season, netting 28 goals as Milan finished runners-up to Juventus, was tied to the Rossoneri for another 3 seasons.

The 30-year-old spent 2 seasons at Milan, the first on loan from FC Barcelona before signing on a permanent deal the following summer.

Thiago Silva has been strongly linked with a move to the French capital throughout the summer, but he appeared to have committed his future to Milan when, after the Italian giants turned down a reported £36 million bid from PSG for the player, he signed a new lucrative contract to keep him at San Siro until June 2017.

Only 2 days ago Thiago Silva claimed that he "never thought of leaving" the Rossoneri this summer.

The powerful 27-year-old has been at Milan since 2009 after signing from Fluminense.

The signings continue the summer recruitment drive of PSG, backed their new Qatari owners, as they look to land the Ligue 1 title and make an impact in the Champions League.

They have already brought in Argentina striker Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli.

PSG seal Silva's services

Paris Saint-Germain have signed Thiago Silva from AC Milan for a reported fee of €42 million, according to the Ligue 1 club's website.

The Brazil international, 27-year-old, had been linked with a move to Parc des Princes throughout the off-season, and he has now made the switch to the French capital, where he is expected to be joined by his former AC Milan team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

He has agreed a 5-year contract worth a reported €7.5 million per year, including €1.5 million in bonuses, and becomes the second most expensive defender in the world after Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand.

After previous failed spells in Europe with Dynamo Moscow and FC Porto, Thiago Silva returned to the continent in 2009 with AC Milan from Fluminense and lifted the Serie A title in only his second season at San Siro.

With Milan's financial problems well documented, president Silvio Berlusconi confirmed that he had accepted a bid from PSG in the region of €65 million for both the Brazilian and Ibrahimovic, despite the Ligue 1 runners-up seeing an initial bid reportedly rejected for the stopper.

Ibrahimovic completes PSG move

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has completed his long-awaited transfer from AC Milan to big-spending Paris Saint-Germain.

Ibrahimovic was widely expected to finalise his transfer on Wednesday, with the Ligue 1 club announcing a press conference for 3 PM in the afternoon.

And the Swedish international has ended the speculation by signing a 3-year deal with PSG after a fee reported to be €20 million was agreed.

The 30-year-old will now link back up with former AC Milan team-mate Thiago Silva, who joined PSG on Saturday.

Ibrahimovic, who had a contract with Milan until June 2015, was Serie A's top scorer last season, netting 28 goals as the Rossoneri finished runners-up to Juventus.

The former FC Barcelona, Juve, Inter Milano and Ajax striker is the latest big-money signing to arrive in the French capital as PSG bid to win the Ligue 1 title for the first time since 1994 after finishing runners-up behind Montpellier last season.

Earlier this month PSG signed Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli with French media suggesting the club paid an estimated €30 million for the Argentina forward.

Last summer Les Rouge-et-Bleu signed Argentina playmaker Javier Pastore from Palermo in a deal reportedly worth £37 million.

Zapata set to complete Milan deal

Colombian defender Cristian Zapata is set to join AC Milan from Villarreal on a season-long loan deal, the Spanish club confirmed on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old, who has 15 caps for his country, passed a medical in Milano with his return to Italian football announced shortly after. He joined Villarreal from Udinese last season.

West Bromwich were reported to have expressed an interest after Zapata indicated he wanted to leave Villarreal, who were relegated to the Segunda after finishing 18th in La Liga last season.

"Milan weaker than Real"

Massimo Ambrosini confessed that the side are weaker than teams such as Real Madrid, especially after they were beaten 5-1 by the La Liga champions last week.

A strong performance by the Spanish side with goals by Angel di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Jose Maria Callejon ensured that the Milanese side were humiliated by Los Blancos in the pre-season friendly.

Ambrosini, 35-year-old, was part of the squad on the day of the match and he admits that there is a gulf in class between Milan and other top sides in Europe.

The club recently sold star duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain and have yet to secure proper replacements in the current transfer window although Ambrosini maintains that the search is ongoing.

The AC Milan captain does feel, however, that with some hard work and determination, the players could ensure that the team remains in the running for the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League in the new season.

"We are sad because it was a bad impression, so it is normal to be nervous after a defeat like that", the veteran told Milannews.it upon the team's return to Italy on Saturday.

"It must be said that we've also played a team much stronger than us. This season, teams like Real are not at the same level as Milan, we are aware that we are one or two steps below these big clubs."

"At present, however, it is important for us to find the right spirit that this team will then have all season."

"This team is aware that times have changed because we have lost so many important players. This pre-season has helped us capture a greater awareness of this."

"I don't know what the club are planning next in the market but they are right to focus on create the right atmosphere."

"The season is long, the results on the field will tell if this team has managed to become more of a team. We really want to start the season."

AC Milan have made an official announcement regarding Pato’s condition:

“During the workout today, Alexandre Pato has reported a problem in his left adductor (thigh). In the coming days, there will be further medical examinations made to determine the extent of the damage.“

Pato is injured only 5 days before the start of the Serie A new season and he looks set to miss it.
