FC Twente banned from Europe for 3 years
The Dutch soccer association banned FC Twente from European competition for 3 years on Tuesday as punishment for "deliberately misleading" the body about a deal to sell player transfer fee rights to an outside investor.
The Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) added that Twente's professional license will be revoked if it fails to fully cooperate with an independent investigation into the club's structure, and the club will be fined €45,250.
The sanctions come in the middle of a terrible season on and off the pitch for Twente. Winner of its only Eredivisie title in 2010, Twente is currently 16th in the 18-team top flight.
The federation said the punishment follows Twente's failure to reveal full details of a third-party ownership contract with Malta-based Doyen Sports Investments.
FIFA has banned third-party ownership as a threat to the game's integrity because investors force transfers to make a profit.
The Football Leaks website last month published a contract between Twente and Doyen in which Doyen agreed to pay Twente €5 million for between 10 and 50% of the transfer fee rights for 7 players.
The deal was signed in 2014, before FIFA outlawed third-party ownership.

Guardiola out, Ancelotti in at Bayern
Bayern Munchen have confirmed that head coach Pep Guardiola will leave the club at the end of the season and be replaced by former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, who has agreed a 3-year contract.
Reports this week suggested Guardiola had made the decision not to renew his contract with the reigning Bundesliga champions, who have now confirmed that he will indeed say farewell at the Allianz ArenA come June 2016.
Ancelotti, meanwhile, was sacked by Madrid at the end of last season after a 2-year spell in charge, which had seen him win the Champions League in his first campaign and will return to management with Bayern from 1 July.
Guardiola replaced Jupp Heynckes at Bayern ahead of the 2013/2014 campaign and guided them to the domestic double in his first season at the helm, as well as winning the Club World Cup and UEFA SuperCup.
He added a second Bundesliga title in 2014/2015, but Champions League success has evaded him so far at Bayern, going out in the semi-finals twice.
The former FC Barcelona coach can still win the Treble with Bayern this season, with the Bavarians topping the Bundesliga table halfway through the season, having reached the round of 16 in the Champions League as well as making it to the DFB Pokal quarter-finals.

Bayern Munchen announced on Sunday that Pep Guardiola will leave the club at the end of the season, with Carlo Ancelotti confirmed as his replacement.

Champions League
Ancelotti boasts an impressive 3 European crowns as a coach, having lifted the trophy twice with AC Milan before completing "La Decima" during his Real Madrid tenure.
Guardiola, meanwhile, is one behind his Italian successor after winning the Champions League twice in the FC Barcelona hot seat, but his overall win percentage places him ahead of Ancelotti.
Having guided Bayern to the semi-finals in his two seasons at the helm, Guardiola has won 62,5% of his Champions League matches as a coach.
Although he is yet to win the tournament in Bavaria, Guardiola's win ratio is actually better with Bayern (66,67%) than it was with Barca (60%).
Ancelotti - who has won 54,61% of his Champions League outings - is hindered somewhat by a difficult baptism with Parma during the 1997-1998 season, when the Serie A outfit won just 2 of their 6 matches.
The former Chelsea manager also won only 2 of 10 matches with Juventus in Europe's premier club competitions, although one of those defeats came in the 1998-1999 semi-finals against eventual winners Manchester United.
Ancelotti left his last job at Real Madrid with a European win percentage of 76% at the club, and Bayern will be hoping he can bring some of his considerable continental expertise to the Allianz ArenA.
Domestic
Bayern have been a dominant force in German football in recent seasons and appear on course for a 4th successive Bundesliga title.
That momentum is reflected in Guardiola's domestic record with the club, having won 81,18% of his 85 matches in the top flight since taking charge in June 2013, scoring a staggering 220 goals in the process.
Barca won 76,32% of Spanish league fixtures under Guardiola, claiming the La Liga title in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and only Ancelotti's reign at Real Madrid, during which he achieved a win ratio of 75%, comes anywhere close to matching the Spaniard.
A 60,98% record at Juventus was as good as it got for Ancelotti in Serie A, while his time at Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain generated identical success rates at 63,16%.
The 56-year-old will now be charged with building on the foundations laid for him by Jupp Heynckes and Pep Guardiola and maintaining Bayern's reputation as the most formidable force in the Bundesliga.

Frontzeck quits as Hannover coach
Michael Frontzeck has resigned as Hannover head coach after a poor first half of the Bundesliga season.
The 51-year-old only took charge back in April of this year, initially on an interim basis, as he ensured the club's top flight survival.
That meant Frontzeck penned a 2-year contract in May, but Hannover have struggled in 2015-2016, winning just 4 of 17 league matches to sit second from bottom with 14 points heading into the mid-season break.

Batshuayi signs Marseille renewal
Michy Batshuayi has ended all speculation about his future by signing a new and improved contract with Olympique Marseille until June 2020.
The 22-year-old was heavily linked with clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle in recent weeks, but he has made the decision to stay with the Ligue 1 outfit instead.
The striker's previous deal ran until the end of the 2018-2019 campaign, but he has now signed a one-year extension.
Batshuayi joined Marseille from Standard Liege in August 2014 and has since developed into a key player at Stade Velodrome.
He currently sits second in the Ligue 1 scoring charts with 11 goals from 19 appearances this season, trailing PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic by 4 strikes.

Courbis handed the reins at Rennes
Former Montpellier coach Rolland Courbis has replaced Philippe Montanier as coach at Rennes following their Coupe de France defeat to second-tier Bourg en Bresse.
Montanier guided Rennes to 6th in the league, but saw his side throw away a lead to lose 3-1 at home to the Ligue 2 side on Tuesday and left the club the following morning.
