Daley Blind diagnosed with heart condition
Ajax defender Daley Blind has been diagnosed with a heart condition.
Blind, who spent 4 years at Manchester United between 2014-2018, suffered from dizziness during Ajax's Champions League defeat against Valencia on 10 December and was taken for tests.
The tests revealed he has heart muscle inflammation, also known as cardiomyopathy, and he has been fitted with a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator (an electronic device that constantly monitors his heart rhythm).
The severity of the condition remains unknown but it could put Blind's involvement for the Netherlands at EURO 2020 in doubt.

Haaland smashes Bundesliga record with Koln double
Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has made Bundesliga history by becoming the first player to score 5 goals in his first 2 matches in the division.
The Norwegian's feat is made more remarkable by the fact that it has been achieved in just 57 minutes of pitch time, meaning that he is averaging an incredible 7,9 goals per 90 minutes for Dortmund.
Unsurprisingly, his feat of scoring 5 times in such a short space of time for a new club is also a record.
On both of his appearances, the January arrival from Salzburg has come off the bench.
Even before moving to Germany, the 19-year-old had caught the eye for his goal-grabbing exploits in Austria.
He scored 16 times in 14 top flight matches for Salzburg but perhaps most impressively transferred that level into the Champions League, where he struck 8 times in 6 matches, only failing to net against Liverpool in the final match.

Milan sell Piatek to Hertha
AC Milan centre-forward Krzysztof Piatek's move to Hertha Berlin is done, according to reports from Germany and Italy.
Sky Sport Italia had earlier reported that Milan have accepted a €27 million plus €3 million bonuses offer from the German outfit for Piatek.
After intensive negotiations this afternoon, the Poland international also agreed personal terms and will fly out for his medical over the next 24 hours.
Piatek signed for Milan a year ago, with €38 million paid to Genoa, but has struggled in the last 6 months at San Siro.
The 24-year-old scored 16 goals in 41 competitive games for the Rossoneri, compared to 19 goals in 21 matches for Genoa.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Milan do not intend to bring in a replacement for Piatek.
Rodriguez deal done with PSV
Ricardo Rodriguez is on the verge of joining PSV Eindhoven on loan with obligation to buy for €6 million after AC Milan rejected Napoli and Fenerbahce approaches.
The Swiss international wants regular playing time ahead of EURO 2020, which he will not be getting at San Siro this season.
PSV were the first to show a firm interest, but the player was more inclined towards Fenerbahce.
The Turkish side had Financial Fair-Play problems, which delayed the move, then seemed to change their minds on the terms.
Napoli had been in advanced negotiations, but only wanted to take Rodriguez on loan with option to buy.
Milan are determined to ensure their players who leave in January are guaranteed a permanent exit.
With that in mind, Sky Sport Italia, Gazzetta dello Sport and more all claim PSV Eindhoven have agreed to take Rodriguez on loan with obligation to buy.
The cost of the operation is expected to be on loan for €1 million with obligation to buy for another €5 million.

Sturridge handed 4-month ban
The English Football Association (FA) has suspended Daniel Sturridge from all football related activity until the end of 17 June following an investigation into betting misconduct, with FIFA also confirming that the former Liverpool striker's ban applies worldwide.
Sturridge, most recently of Trabzonspor in Turkey, was originally handed a £75,000 fine and a 6-week suspension back in July of 2019, with 4 of those weeks having been pushed back until 31 August 2020.
However, it has now been decided that the Regulatory Commission's punishment was "unduly lenient". The striker has seen the originally fine doubled to £150,000 and, effective immediately, will not be allowed to participate in any football activity for 4 months.
The news comes following a statement released by Trabzonspor on Monday in which the Super Lig side relayed that Sturridge's 3-year contract had been terminated by mutual consent.
It had been speculated that the England man's fitness issues had been the cause of the parting of ways, but the FA's communique has cleared up the matter.
Indeed, those investigating the case released a 65-page document on their findings, all relating back to the player breaching the "inside information" rule in 2018, during which time he had given details to family and friends regarding a potential move to FC Sevilla.

Martins earns 6-month ban for referee assault
Portugal international Gelson Martins has been banned from football for 6 months after assaulting a referee, Ligue 1 confirmed on Thursday.
Martins lined up for AS Monaco on 1 February against Nimes, but after 34 minutes became incensed when seeing team-mate Tiemoue Bakayoko sent off for a rash challenge.
Referee Mikael Lesage was the target of Martins' ire and was pushed twice in an ugly fracas that led to the former Atletico Madrid man joining Bakayoko in receiving a red card.
9-man Monaco subsequently went down 3-1, having been tied 1-1 at the time of the double expulsion.
Following the incident Martins was suspended indefinitely pending investigation and has now received a stiff penalty that means his season is now over.
Martins apologised for his actions following the Nimes clash, admitting that the outburst was unacceptable and out of character.
The midfielder, 24-year-old, is in his first full season at Monaco after moving to the principality on an initial loan move in January 2019 following just 6 months at Atletico Madrid.

Flick named permanent Bayern Munchen manager
Hansi Flick has signed a 3-year contract as Bayern Munchen's head coach, the Bundesliga champions confirmed on Friday.
Flick initially took over from Niko Kovac as interim manager in November, before Bayern announced the following month that the 55-year-old would stay on through the remainder of the 2019-2020 season.
After a successful run since then, Bayern have now confirmed that Flick has agreed a deal to stay on through to June 2023.
Since taking over from Kovac, Flick has led Bayern to 18 wins in his 21 competitive matches in charge. The defending Bundesliga champions are currently top of the table in the now-suspended 2019-2020 season, holding a 4-point advantage over Borussia Dortmund.
Flick also had Bayern on track for the Champions League quarter-finals, leading his side to a 3-0 win over Chelsea in the last 16 first leg at Stamford Bridge before the competition was suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.
For Flick, it is his first head coaching role since he departed Hoffenheim in 2005. Since then he served as an assistant for the German national team before joining Kovac's staff as an assistant prior to the 2019-2020 season.
Flick also represented Bayern as a player between 1985 and 1990, making 139 appearances and winning 4 Bundesliga titles.

Muller signs new Bayern contract
Thomas Muller has committed to a new contract at Bayern Munchen, with fresh terms set to keep the World Cup winner with the Bundesliga champions until 2023.
Transfer talk had resurfaced around the 30-year-old forward at the start of the 2019-2020 campaign.
Having slipped down the pecking order at the Allianz ArenA under Niko Kovac, there were suggestions that the Germany international could move on.
He has, however, played his way back into favour, with Hansi Flick embracing his experience and undoubted quality, with an extension to his deal earned in the process.
Muller has been a one-club man up until this point, with the Bavarian native having taken in 521 appearances for Bayern while scoring 195 goals.
