Ajax denied title as Eredivisie season declared void
The Dutch Eredivisie season has been ended with immediate effect, meaning league leaders Ajax have been denied the title.
There will also be no promotion to the Eredivisie or relegation from the top flight, following an agreement reached over a video conference call between the Dutch FA (KNVB) and clubs.
Ajax were top of the Eredivisie table, ahead of AZ Alkmaar on goal difference, with 9 rounds of matches to play when the season was suspended.
The Eredivisie has put Ajax forward to go directly to the play-offs of the Champions League, with AZ playing in the second qualifying round.
Third place Feyenoord go straight into the group stages of the Europa League with PSV and Willem qualifying for the second qualifying round of the competition.

Ligue 1 season over
The Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 seasons will not resume after the French Prime Minister announced no sporting events, even those behind closed doors, could take place before September.
The announcement by Edouard Philippe to ban sporting events gathering more than 5,000 people until September was made as the French government revealed plans to ease lockdown restrictions from 11 May.
The Premier League and other European leagues had been given until 25 May by UEFA to provide plans to restart their season.
The decision also forces a premature finish to the top 14 rugby campaign and creates uncertainty over the rescheduled Tour de France's 29 August start date.
No announcement is yet to be made about whether league leaders Paris Saint-Germain will be awarded the title and how European qualification and relegation will be defined in Ligue 1.
PSG are currently top of the 2019-2020 Ligue 1 table with a 12-point lead, while Olympique Marseille, Rennes and Lille make up the top 4, with Toulouse bottom of the table.
In Ligue 2, the top 5 teams are separated by just 4 points with Lorient, Lens, Ajaccio, Troyes and Clermont all targeting promotion.
The French Professional Football League is expected to meet next month to discuss the final standings.

Klose appointed Bayern assistant coach
World Cup record scorer Miroslav Klose has signed a one-year contract to become Bayern Munchen assistant coach under head coach Hansi Flick from next season.
Klose, who scored a record 16 World Cup goals and won the trophy with Germany in 2014, has been a youth coach at Bayern for the past 2 years, having been in charge of the U17s team since he retired as a player in 2016.
The 41-year-old, who played for Bayern for 4 years from 2007, will step up to become Flick's assistant on 1 July.
Flick was assistant coach when Germany won the World Cup 6 years ago and Klose got his record.
Klose also played for FC Kaiserslautern, Werder Bremen and Lazio, while at international level he scored a record 71 goals for Germany in 137 appearances.

Dortmund ready to listen to offers for Schulz, Akanji and Dahoud
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for Nico Schulz, Manuel Akanji and Mahmoud Dahoud this summer.
Nico Schulz, Manuel Akanji and Mahmoud Dahoud are among the players that would be allowed to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to Bild.
Schulz has struggled to impose himself following his €25,5 million move from TSG Hoffenheim less than a year ago and has often sat on the bench while Raphael Guerreiro has been preferred on the left-hand side of defence.
With Dan-Axel Zagadou currently ruled out with a knee injury, Manuel Akanji should be in the line-up if the Bundesliga returns this month. But when the Frenchman is fit, Akanji is behind him and Mats Hummels in the pecking order in central defence.
According to Bild, Dortmund are willing to listen to offers starting at €25 million for the Swiss international, who is under contract until 2022.
Additionally, the report argues that it would make sense for all parties if Mahmoud Dahoud were to leave the club as the central midfielder still hasn't been able to nail down a starting berth following his €12 million move from Borussia Monchengladbach 3 years ago.
Leonardo Balerdi, who has played just 19 minutes for the first team since his €15,5 million move from Boca Juniors in January 2019, is being linked with a summer move as well.
Finally, Mario Gotze and Andre Schurrle look certain to leave while Real Madrid loanee Achraf Hakimi is due to return to Spain at the end of the season as things stand.

Brugge awarded Belgian title
Club Brugge have been awarded the Belgian Pro League title after the league board decided to end the season early.
At a meeting on Friday, the Pro League board of directors ratified the decision made on 2 April recommending the season should be curtailed in wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The board also decided to award places in UEFA competitions according to each side's league position, meaning second place KAA Gent will qualify for the Champions League's third qualifying round.
Third place Sporting Charleroi will enter the Europa League group stages while Royal Antwerp and Standard Liege have qualified for the competition's third and second qualifying round respectively as it stands.
However, the Final of the Belgian Cup between Club Brugge and Royal Antwerp still needs to take place and if the match can be played before 3 August and Antwerp win, they would qualify directly for the Europa League instead of Charleroi.
The Belgian post-season format would usually see a second play-off competition between the remaining 10 teams in the top flight and the top 6 teams from the second tier, with the winner going on to face a team from the other play-off competition for the country's final European place.
Runaway leaders Brugge sat 15 points ahead of second place Gent after 29 matchdays before the season was paused in March.

Zorc confirms departure of Gotze
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed that Mario Gotze will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Speaking ahead of Borussia Dortmund's away clash with VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday, Zorc told reporters: "We will part ways with Mario Gotze this summer. It was a mutual and respectful decision. Mario is a great man".

Muller & Lewandowski suspended
Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski received their fifth yellow card in the 4-2 victory against Bayer Leverkusen and will be missing the top clash against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
It is a rare event that Bayern play without any of these two profiles. It has only happened 3 times since Lewandowski joined Bayern in 2014.
Bayern have won 15 of their last 16 league games under Hansi Flick.
During these games, Lewandowski has scored goals, as he always does, and is currently the top scorer in the league. But Muller is ranked as the player with the most assists thanks to being "re-discovered" by Flick after being benched during most of the Niko Kovac era. This is the first yellow card suspension of his career.
Sane to miss the rest of the season
Salif Sane has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to an injury, Schalke have announced.
The Senegalese international has suffered a muscle strain, which will keep him out of the remaining 4 Bundesliga games of the 2019-2020 campaign.
Sane joins an injury list, which already includes the likes of Amine Harit, Omar Mascarell, Matija Nastasic, Guido Burgstaller and Jean-Clair Todibo.
On the positive side for Schalke, Weston McKennie will return for Sunday's game against Bayer Leverkusen after serving a one-game suspension.
Streich extends deal as Freiburg coach
The longest serving coach in the Bundesliga, Christian Streich, has signed a contract extension with SC Freiburg, the club have announced.
The Bundesliga side haven't released details about the length of the new deal for Streich, who was appointed Freiburg head coach in December 2011.

Muller surpasses De Bruyne to set new Bundesliga record
Bayern Munchen star Thomas Muller has set a single-season record for assists in the Bundesliga with his 21st of the season, surpassing the previous mark, which was set by Kevin De Bruyne.
Going into the final day of the 2019-2020 campaign, the Bayern attacker was on par with the Manchester City star, who chalked up 20 assists in the 2014-2015 season while playing with VfL Wolfsburg.
The 30-year-old, who was a World Cup winner with Germany in 2014, has featured in all but one league fixture for Hansi Flick's side this season, missing the recent 2-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach due to suspension.
Previously, his highest tally of assists in a top flight season had been 16 in the 2017-2018 season, although he has hit double figures in all but one of the seasons in which he has been a regular in the starting XI.
While he has produced more assists than ever before, his goal scoring record has dropped, with 7 scored in the Bundesliga this term. Indeed, his first goal did not arrive until the final day of November, when he found the net in a 2-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen.
Muller has not scored double figures in a Bundesliga season since 2015-2016, when he hit a personal best of 20, coincidentally recording a career low of 7 assists.
