Johnson signs Stoke contract extension
Glen Johnson has signed a one-year extension with Stoke City to keep him at the club until the end of next season.
The former England international's contract at the bet365 Stadium had been due to expire at the close of the current campaign.
Johnson made his 50th appearance for Stoke as they secured a 3-1 win over Hull City on Saturday.
Arsenal confirm broken leg for Wilshere
Arsenal have confirmed that Bournemouth loanee Jack Wilshere has suffered a broken leg and is set to miss the rest of the season.
The 25-year-old collided with Harry Kane in the second half of Bournemouth's 4-0 Premier League defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday and had to be substituted.
Scans later showed that Wilshere sustained a hairline crack to his left fibula - a similar injury to that which kept him out for the majority of last season.
The news is a bitter blow to the England international, who is set to hold talks with the Gunners over his long-term future at the end of the season.
Wilshere has made 29 league appearances for Eddie Howe's side since joining on a loan deal last August - a move he made in a bid to earn regular first-team football and force his way back into the England set-up.
Bournemouth sit 7 points above the relegation zone with 5 matches left to play this term.

Barton banned for 18 months
Joey Barton has been banned for 18 months by the Football Association over allegations the Burnley midfielder placed more than 1,000 bets on matches over a 10-year period.
The FA alleged that Barton, who has also been fined £30,000, made 1,260 bets over a 10-year period and has now hit the 34-year-old with a lengthy ban following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing.
Burnley confirmed via their official website that Barton, who re-joined the Clarets on a short-term deal in January, plans to appeal the length of his ban.
Barton was previously hit with a one-match ban by the Scottish FA prior to leaving former club Glasgow Rangers after admitting placing 44 bets between 1 July and 15 September last year.

Sturridge may have played last game for Liverpool
Daniel Sturridge could miss the remainder of Liverpool's season with a recurrence of a hip injury, raising the prospect he may have played his final game for the Anfield club.
The England international sustained the problem during final preparations for Liverpool's game against Crystal Palace on Sunday and the club are unsure when he will next be available for Jurgen Klopp's team.
Sturridge was out of action for 2 months with the initial injury, returning only for the recent Premier League wins at Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion, where he appeared as a second half substitute in both fixtures.
The 27-year-old, whose Anfield career has been blighted by fitness problems, has started only 5 league games for Liverpool this season, with Klopp favouring a front three of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
Sturridge is likely to be allowed to leave Liverpool at the end of this season and could therefore have played his final game should he require another lengthy recovery period.
Diego Costa has now scored 50 Premier League goals in 85 games; one fewer than Luis Suarez.
Everton reward Calvert-Lewin with new 5-year deal
Everton have rewarded Dominic Calvert-Lewin for his progress during his first season at the club by handing him a new 5-year contract.
The Premier League side announced on Wednesday that fresh terms have been agreed with the 20-year-old, keeping him at Goodison Park until 2022.
Calvert-Lewin only joined Everton from Sheffield United in a reported £1,5 million deal last August and has broken into the first-team squad since making his debut in December, making 10 Premier League appearances.

Kante & Luiz doubtful for Chelsea's clash with Middlesbrough
N'Golo Kante and David Luiz are fitness doubts for Chelsea's pivotal home Premier League match against Middlesbrough on Monday.
Chelsea need 3 wins from their last 4 games to be certain of winning the title in Antonio Conte's first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
But they could be without two key performers in midfielder Kante, who has only missed one top flight match all season, and defender David Luiz against Boro.
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, though, is fit to play having hurt his ankle in the win over Everton last time out, the same game that saw an injured David Luiz have to come off late on.
Coleman signs new Everton deal
Seamus Coleman has signed a new 5-year deal at Everton despite being sidelined with a double fracture of his right leg.
The Republic of Ireland right-back sustained the injury following a bad challenge by Wales' Neil Taylor in a World Cup qualifier in March and is unlikely to be fit for the start of next season.
Terms on his new contract were agreed prior to the 28-year-old leaving for international duty but Coleman revealed Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright got in touch within hours of the incident to reassure him that nothing had changed.
Coleman signed for Everton from Sligo Rovers for a bargain £60,000 in 2009 and has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League.
Bravo out for season
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that goalkeeper Claudio Bravo will miss the rest of the season with a calf injury.
Bravo is one of 4 City players ruled out of Saturday's game against Crystal Palace, with Sergio Aguero, John Stones and David Silva also missing.
The Chile captain was injured while catching a cross in City's 0-0 derby draw with Manchester United, while Aguero sustained a groin injury in last weekend's 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough.
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed they will trump Arsenal after they were given the green light to expand the capacity of their new stadium (61,559) beyond that of their rivals' Emirates Stadium.
Spurs will move grounds ahead of the 2018-2019 season, with plans in place to play at Wembley next term as White Hart Lane - adjacent to the venue under construction - is demolished.
The new stadium was originally expected to have a capacity of over 56,000 seats, but the club have revealed that a change in design has enabled them to take the potential crowd beyond the Emirates' 60,432.

Fabregas sets Premier League assists record
Cesc Fabregas has become the first player to record 10 assists in 6 different Premier League seasons.
Fabregas reached the milestone in Chelsea's Premier League game against Middlesbrough on Monday, teeing up his fellow Spain international Diego Costa for the opening goal at Stamford Bridge.
The midfielder was given far too much space outside the box and picked out Costa, who slipped a neat finish through the legs of goalkeeper Brad Guzan.
Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney have both managed to reach 10 Premier League assists in 5 seasons, but former Arsenal starlet Fabregas now stands alone as one of the division's leading playmakers.
Another season, that same bottling feeling for Tottenham.
Antonio signs new long-term West Ham deal
West Ham have announced that Michail Antonio has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The winger, who is sidelined with a serious hamstring injury, has agreed to a new deal that will reportedly run until 2021.
Antonio was named West Ham's Player of the Year this week following his largely strong performances for Slaven Bilic's struggling side.
He managed 9 goals and 5 assists in all competitions before being sidelined last month.
Antonio, who joined the Hammers from Nottingham Forest in 2015 for a reported fee of £7 million, won his first senior England call-up last August but did not make an appearance.
He was then included in Gareth Southgate's squad in March but was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Pochettino & Son land Premier League awards
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has won the Premier League Manager of the Month award for April.
The news will come as little consolation for the Argentine, however, as May began with a damaging 1-0 defeat at West Ham that effectively ended Spurs' title challenge with Chelsea able to clinch the crown with victory at West Bromwich on Friday.
Pochettino led his side to 6 successive wins in April - scoring 16 times and conceding just one - as the north London team threatened to push Chelsea all the way.
But the 1-0 setback at the London Stadium means they will likely have to settle for second place and automatic qualification to the Champions League next season.
Heung-min Son won the Player of the Month award to make it a Spurs double.
The South Korea forward scored 5 goals in 4 consecutive matches in April to become the first man to land the award twice in 2016-2017.
Mirallas signs new 3-year Everton deal
Kevin Mirallas has signed a contract extension at Everton that ties him to the club until June 2020.
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright confirmed at the club's awards night on Tuesday that the forward, whose deal was set to expire at the end of the 2017-2018 campaign, would be extending his stay on Merseyside.
And the 29-year-old, who has netted 4 goals and accumulated 6 assists across 35 appearances for Ronald Koeman's side this term, is delighted to have pledged his future to Everton.
Mirallas' extension will provide a welcome boost for Everton, who will come 7th in the Premier League this season after two successive bottom-half finishes under previous manager Roberto Martinez.
Despite the feel-good factor at Goodison Park, however, doubts remain over the futures of Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley, with both players stalling on signing fresh contracts.
Zabaleta to leave Manchester City
Pablo Zabaleta will leave Manchester City at the end of the season after spending 9 years at the club.
City have announced that Zabaleta is moving elsewhere when his contract expires at the end of the campaign and will make his final home appearance against West Bromwich next Tuesday.
The 32-year-old joined the Premier League side from Espanyol for £6,5 million in 2008 and has won 5 major trophies, including 2 Premier League titles.
Zabaleta has racked up a total of 332 City appearances, although he has been restricted to 11 Premier League starts this season under Pep Guardiola.

Tottenham end season unbeaten at home
A season to savour for Tottenham Hotspur saw them go unbeaten at home in the league for the first time in over 50 years.
Although Mauricio Pochettino's men failed to stop Chelsea's march to the Premier League title, Spurs continue to earn plenty of plaudits for their progress under the former Southampton manager.
A 2-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday not only ensured the Tottenham faithful enjoyed a winning end to life at White Hart Lane, it secured second place and means you have to go back to May 2016 for the north-London club's last loss at home in the top flight. The last time Spurs went unbeaten at home in the league all season was 1964-1965.
Spurs reeled off 14 home league wins in a row - equalling a club record set in 1987 - to clinch a return to the Champions League next term, none sweeter than the 2-0 victory over arch-rivals Arsenal last month.

Mazzarri leaving Watford job
Walter Mazzarri is leaving his role as Watford head coach at the end of the season.
Watford have confirmed the 55-year-old's time in charge of the club will come to an end after their final Premier League game of the season at home to Manchester City on Sunday.
Mazzarri, formerly head coach of Napoli and Inter Milano, signed a 3-year contract when he took charge in July 2016 but will now depart after only one season in the job.
Watford avoided relegation from the Premier League this season, but have slipped to 16th in the table after a miserable run of 5 consecutive defeats.
That comes after they finished 13th in 2015-2016, their first season after winning promotion, a result which still led to the surprise departure of Quique Sanchez Flores, who is now at Espanyol.
Aside from the 3 relegated clubs, only Burnley have scored fewer than the 40 goals Watford have netted in this season's top flight.
