Arteta earns Manager of the Month award
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been named March's Premier League Manager of the Month, and is now just one behind Jurgen Klopp's single-season record of 5 awards.
March was a strong month for the Gunners, who also saw winger Bukayo Saka named the division's Player of the Month earlier on Friday.
Arteta was up against Pep Guardiola, Unai Emery and Roberto De Zerbi for this month's award, but after an undefeated month which yielded 4 wins and 14 goals across 4 games, the Spaniard has won once again.
It is the third time in the past 4 months that Arteta has won the award, with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag breaking his streak last month.
Saka named Player of the Month for March
Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has won the Premier League's Player of the Month award for March.
Saka was among a 6-man shortlist for the award alongside Alexander Isak, Alexis Mac Allister, Tyrone Mings, Mohamed Salah and Arsenal team-mate Leandro Trossard.
However, he was always a favourite to win after a month in which he netted 3 goals and set up another 2 for the Premier League leaders.
Saka, who wins this award for the first time in his career, moved into double figures for both goals and assists in March, netting his 10th goal of the campaign in a 4-0 win over Everton to kick off the month - a game in which he also bagged an assist.
He then added 2 more goals in a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace, while also recording his 10th assist of the season by setting up Gabriel Martinelli's opening goal.
Saka is the only player in the Premier League this season to record double figures in both goals and assist, and he is also the first Arsenal player to reach that feat since Alexis Sanchez in the 2016-2017 campaign.
Indeed, only 8 Arsenal players have hit that mark before Saka: Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez.

Emery earns Manager of the Month award
Unai Emery has been named the Barclays Manager of the Month for April, winning the award for the first time.
Emery has continued his transformation of Aston Villa, helping them into the top 6 in April, winning 5 of 7 matches.
He oversaw a 2-0 victory at Chelsea to begin the month before masterminding a 3-0 home win over Newcastle United as Villa continue to dream of European qualification for next season.
The Spaniard is the first Aston Villa manager to win the award since Dean Smith in December 2020, while it is Villa's first Premier League monthly award of any kind since Danny Ings won August 2021's Budweiser Goal of the Month.
Haaland wins Player of the Month award
Erling Haaland's historic month for Manchester City has been recognised with April's EA SPORTS Player of the Month award.
Haaland wins the award after producing 6 goals and 2 assists in only 4 April appearances, helping Man City move ahead of Arsenal in the title race.
The Norwegian scored in every match he played in, including a crucial victory over Arsenal and a win at Fulham in which he equalled the longstanding Premier League record for most goals by a player in a single season, a feat he has since surpassed.
The 22-year-old claims the prize for the second time in his debut season, having first won it in August 2022.

Tottenham appoint Ange Postecoglou manager
Ange Postecoglou has been appointed Tottenham Hotspur manager on a 4-year deal.
Postecoglou, set to be the first Australian to manage in the Premier League, will join Spurs on 1 July after 2 years at Celtic in which he was won back-to-back Scottish Premiership titles and a domestic treble this season.
Spurs held talks with Postecoglou, 57-year-old, on Monday after agreeing terms with Celtic to bring him to north London.

Saliba agrees new Arsenal contract
William Saliba has agreed in principle a new 4-year contract with Arsenal, running to 2027.
The French centre-back's existing deal was due to end in 2024, but he is now set to add another 3 years onto his stay in north London.
Saliba first signed for the Gunners for a fee of around £27 million in 2019 and after a year back on loan with former club Saint-Etienne was then handed the number 4 shirt - but did not make his first-team debut until August 2022.
The 22-year-old spent 18 months back in France across two further loan spells at Nice and Olympique Marseille before finally making his Arsenal bow against Crystal Palace last year, and instantly became a key member of Mikel Arteta's squad.
The defender was instrumental en route to Arsenal's highest points tally since 2004 (84), scoring twice in 27 Premier League appearances for the club.
Fabregas retires from football
Former Arsenal, Chelsea and FC Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has announced his retirement from football at the age of 36.
Fabregas earned 110 caps for Spain in an international career which saw him win back-to-back European Championships and the World Cup in between those successes.
The Spaniard began his career at Barca's La Masia, but made his professional debut for Arsenal at 16 and spent 8 seasons in north London before returning to Catalonia.
Having won the FA Cup with the Gunners, Fabregas enjoyed even greater success in Spain as he lifted La Liga, the Copa del Rey, the UEFA SuperCup and the FIFA Club World Cup over a 3-year stay.
Fabregas then returned to the Premier League with Chelsea and won the title twice, first under Jose Mourinho and then under Antonio Conte. He also won the FA Cup and League Cup for the Blues.
Nelson signs new 4-year deal
Arsenal forward Reiss Nelson has signed a new 4-year deal, with the option for another year.
The 23-year-old academy graduate's previous deal had expired before he committed his future to the club he joined as an 8-year-old.
Nelson made 11 substitute appearances in the Premier League last season, scoring a late comeback winner in the 3-2 win over Bournemouth on 4 March.
Arsenal unveil Arsene Wenger statue at Emirates Stadium
Arsenal have unveiled a bronze statue of legendary former manager Arsene Wenger outside Emirates Stadium.
He helped the Gunners to 3 Premier League titles and 7 FA Cups during his reign from 1996 to 2018.
The 73-year-old will be a guest of honour for Arsenal's home friendly against AS Monaco, another of his former clubs, on Wednesday.
Wenger, who now works for FIFA, is so synonymous with Arsenal's recent history that last season's title battle and second place finish under Mikel Arteta is their best Premier League campaign without Wenger in charge.
He managed 1,235 matches at Arsenal, most famously overseeing the only unbeaten Premier League campaign when Arsenal won the 2003-2004 title.
He took them into the Champions League in 20 consecutive years. Next season will be their first campaign in the competition without Wenger in charge since the 1991-1992 European Cup.
Jesus to miss start of Premier League season
Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has had minor knee surgery and will miss the start of the Premier League season.
Jesus did not play in Wednesday's pre-season win over AS Monaco and manager Mikel Arteta confirmed afterwards that the Brazil forward will be out "for a few weeks" after a "little procedure".
The 26-year-old's injury is related to the knee problems he had last season, which also required surgery.
Jesus' injury comes 4 days before Arsenal face Treble winners Manchester City in the Community Shield and 10 days before their first match of the Premier League season against Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal extend Emirates kit sponsorship deal
Arsenal and Emirates have announced an extension of their partnership, the longest-running front-of-shirt sponsorship in Premier League history.
The collaboration between the two began in July 2006 and will now continue until at least 2028, marking a minimum of 22 years together.
Emirates has been an integral part of Arsenal's journey, featuring on the front of their men's, women's, and academy team shirts, as well as the stadium name since its opening in 2006.
They have also been instrumental in connecting the club with global supporters through pre-season tours and campaigns like "Global Gooners".
To celebrate this record-breaking partnership, a film has been released highlighting the memorable moments at Emirates Stadium that symbolize the strength of the bond between Arsenal and Emirates.
Today's extension brings the shirt sponsorship deal in line with the stadium deal, which already ran until 2028 before. The kit sponsorship would have expired in 2024.
Arsenal have not provided specific financial details of the new partnership extension with Emirates.
However, it is expected to be a substantial increase from the previous deal signed in 2018, which reportedly earned the club £40 million annually.
