Howe earns Manager of the Month award
Eddie Howe has been named Barclays Manager of the Month for October, winning the award for the fifth time.
Newcastle United were top scorers in an unbeaten October, scoring 4 or more goals in half their matches, including a 4-1 triumph at Fulham and a 5-1 home success over Brentford.
Howe's side claimed 16 points in October, more than any other team in the competition that month, to move up to 4th in the table.
The 44-year-old's latest Manager of the Month award follows his previous successes in March 2017, January 2018, October 2018, with Bournemouth, and February 2022, with Newcastle.
Almiron wins Player of the Month award
Miguel Almiron has won the October EA SPORTS Player of the Month award.
The Newcastle winger becomes only the second Paraguayan to claim the prize, after Roque Santa Cruz while at Blackburn Rovers in 2007.
Almiron scored in 5 of his 6 matches for Newcastle, netting a joint-league high 6 goals in October.
He struck a stunner in a 4-1 win at Fulham and also produced a superb curling finish as Newcastle recorded a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa.
Chelsea confirm James is out for up to a month

The 23-year-old underwent an assessment on Wednesday, with scan results confirming he faces another spell on the sidelines.

West Ham agree deal for Ings
West Ham have agreed a deal for striker Danny Ings from Aston Villa, with the Hammers set to pay around £15 million for the England international.
Ings will join the London club from Villa, where he has scored 6 Premier League goals in 18 games this season, and add further competition to the Hammers' front line alongside Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio.
West Ham have scored only 15 goals in 19 league games this term, with their form in front of goal a major factor behind their Premier League struggles.
They sit 18th in the table, just ahead of Everton - who they face this weekend - and Southampton on goal difference.
Ings, 30-year-old, moved to Villa from Southampton for £25 million in 2021, but has not hit the same heights at Villa Park as he did at St. Mary's. Despite that, the 3-cap England forward has still scored 14 goals in 52 games for the Villans in all competitions.
Arteta earns Manager of the Month award
Mikel Arteta has been named as the Barclays Manager of the Month for November and December, the second time he has won the award this season.
Arteta led Arsenal to 4 victories from 4 Premier League matches, winning away against Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as beating West Ham United at home.
The victories meant the league leaders held a 7-point lead at the top of the table going into 2023.
It is the 4th Manager of the Month Award won by Arteta, who has been at Arsenal since December 2019. He also claimed the honour in September 2021, March 2022 and August 2022.
Odegaard wins Player of the Month award
Martin Odegaard has been voted the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for November and December.
Arsenal captain Odegaard becomes only the second Norwegian to win the accolade, after Manchester City's Erling Haaland earned the August 2022 prize.
Odegaard drove Arsenal's title challenge as Mikel Arteta's side opened up a 7-point lead at the top of the table.
The midfielder produced 3 goals and 3 assists across November and December, the most goal involvements by any Premier League player in this time.
Odegaard, 24-year-old, is the first Arsenal player to win the award since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in September 2019.
Martinelli signs new contract with Arsenal
Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has signed a new contract with the club until 2027.
The 21-year-old's previous deal was set to expire at the end of next season, but in a big boost for Mikel Arteta's side he has agreed a new 4-and-a-half-year contract with the option for an additional year.
Martinelli has been a key figure in Arsenal's rise to the top of the Premier League this season, scoring 7 top flight goals in 19 matches.
The Brazil international, who featured for his country at the World Cup in Qatar, has 25 goals in 111 matches in all competitions and won the FA Cup in 2020 since joining from Brazilian side Ituano in July 2019.
Arteta earns Manager of the Month award
Mikel Arteta has won back-to-back Barclays Manager of the Month awards after claiming the prize for January.
Arteta guided his leaders to 7 points from 3 matches, all of which were against title rivals, to maintain Arsenal's push for a first Premier League Trophy since 2004.
After a goalless draw at home to high-flying Newcastle United, Arteta led Arsenal to their first win at Tottenham Hotspur since 2014 before finishing the month with a thrilling 3-2 turnaround win over Manchester United.
It extended Arsenal's unbeaten run to 13 matches, their longest streak in the Premier League for 5 years.
Arteta is the first manager to win the award in successive months since Pep Guardiola did so in November and December of 2021.
Overall it is the fifth time Arteta has won the award, with 3 of those coming this season. It is two shy of Jurgen Klopp's record of 5 in a single season, in 2019-2020.
Rashford wins Player of the Month award
Marcus Rashford has won January's EA SPORTS Player of the Month award, earning the prize for the second time this season.
Last month Rashford continued his scintillating form with goals in 3 of Manchester United's 4 matches.
He scored in a 3-0 win over Bournemouth before netting a late winner in the Manchester derby.
The 25-year-old ended the month with a sublime long-range strike at Arsenal that also earned him a nomination for the January Budweiser Goal of the Month Award.
Rashford wins the award for a third time in his career, also claiming it in January 2019 and September 2022.
