    Portsmouth expect Johnson exit

Storrie confirmed that there is interest in the former Chelsea defender, with reports suggesting some clubs are willing to pay up to £18 million for the 24-year-old.

Although Storrie refused to be drawn on the details of such a deal, he did say that a deal could be struck "in the not-too-distant future".

"It is very hard to hold someone back in Glen's situation. I accept that", Storrie told Sky Sports.

Asked if the player could leave for a fee of up to £18 million, Storrie added: "You could be right. On the numbers we will keep that private. But you may not be million miles away. He is attracting the big clubs."

"We need to be fair to Glen, see what Glen wants to do and see what is right for him and for Portsmouth. Something may happen in the not-too-distant future."

Storrie added that while Portsmouth were happy to allow Johnson to move to a bigger club, they would only do so should they receive an offer they deemed appropriate.

"Glen has obviously had a fantastic season for us and has established himself as one of the best right-backs in the league if not the country at the moment", Storrie said.

"I've known Glen for a long time since his West Ham days so when I re-signed him we talked it over and he asked if one of the big 4 clubs, who were in the Champions League, came in for him would we stand in his way of a move."

"I said that I couldn't do that provided the deal is good for Portsmouth and for Glen."

    Senderos keen on Arsenal return

Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos is set for an unexpected return to the club following his loan spell at AC Milan, according to The Mirror.

The Swiss defender had gone on record as saying he was not interested in returning to Arsenal, but he is now reportedly favouring a move back to the club where he made his name.

The Gunners were reportedly ready to offload the 24-year-old this summer, with Milan ready to make a bid for the defender, but this does not seem to be the case anymore.

The Italian giants allegedly passed up the opportunity to sign him on a permanent deal, worth a reported £6.3 million and now the centre-back is set for talks with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

The Switzerland international spent the entire season on loan at San Siro and was expected to complete a permanent move there, following Frenchman Mathieu Flamini, who swapped the Emirates Stadium for San Siro last summer.

The Gunners, meanwhile, are reportedly close to concluding a deal to sign Ajax defender Thomas Vermaelen, while Kolo Toure is apparently considering an offer from fellow Premier League side Manchester City.

Gerrard will consider retirement at 33

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has revealed he is considering retiring at the end of his current contract.

The 29-year-old England midfielder has a deal until 2013 with the Reds, but admits it could be his last in football.

"I'll be 33 at the end of my contract, and it's doubtful whether I'll carry on," he said in an interview with France Football. "If I decide to stop, I'll be proud of the fact I've spent my entire career with the same club."

Gerrard also revealed he gave serious thought to leaving Anfield for Chelsea four years ago, but changed his mind late in the day.

"I've thought about leaving Liverpool twice during my career, especially in 2005 when Chelsea was a temptation," he added.

"But I'm glad I never turned those thoughts into reality."
