"Terry e simbolul acestei echipe.

Former Russia captain Smertin retires
Former Russia captain and Chelsea midfielder Alexei Smertin has decided to hang up his boots after a 16-year professional career.
"I've retired. It's official now", the 34-year-old, who started his career with his home team Dynamo Barnaul in 1992, told the Russian media.
Siberian-born Smertin joined Chelsea from Girondins Bordeaux in August 2003, helping the West London club to the Premier League title in 2005.
He also played for fellow Premier League sides Portsmouth, Charlton Athletic and Fulham.

Lure of Man City cash alone won't attract top players
Carlo Ancelotti has spoken out over the fiscal rivalry between financial heavyweights Manchester City and Chelsea, by indicating that top talents will not sign for a club purely based on money alone and that other factors also play a crucial part.
The former AC Milan trainer alluded to the Eastlands outfit's public pursuit of former World Player of the Year, Kaka, who famously rejected an approach from City despite AC Milan accepting the transfer fee. The Brazilian attacker recently signed for historic Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid.
"City were close to Kaka, but it's difficult because City weren't playing in Champions League", Ancelotti explained during his first press conference, conducted on Monday.
"For the players, it's important. Football is not only money or salaries. It's emotions, it's passion and many other things."
Chelsea and England captain John Terry is reportedly heading the list of Manchester City's transfer targets, yet the Blues have rebuffed each City approach.
During the same press conference Ancelotti claimed Terry may not be captain, before admitting that he was joking and ensured the assembled media that Terry was a symbol of the club and that he would be "captain forever".

Benitez calms Aurelio injury fear
Defender Fabio Aurelio could be out of action for as little as one month, Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has said.
Benitez confirmed the Brazilian had undergone cartilage surgery after damaging his knee on holiday.
"He was injured playing with his son and really disappointed because he was enjoying the summer", Benitez said.
"He had the operation - he had a problem with his cartilage - so he will be one month, maximum 2 months, not 6 months like I see in the press."
The 29-year-old full back, who signed in July 2006 on a free transfer from Valencia, has become an established part of the Liverpool team, making 33 appearances in all competitions last season.
As well as brushing off speculation over the length of Aurelio's absence, Benitez dismissed rumours surrounding Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano.
The midfield duo have been linked with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona but Benitez said they remained Liverpool players.
"Both players are our players and we are really pleased with them", he said. "Both have 2 to 3 years on their contract so we don't need to do anything."

Rafael Benitez Considered Michael Owen Signing For Liverpool
'Rafa' entertained a move for the striker...
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has revealed he had considered the possibility of taking Michael Owen back to Anfield this summer.
Owen, a youth product of the club, joined Real Madrid during Benitez's reign and now arrives at Manchester United via Newcastle United on a free transfer, after his contract at St James' Park expired.
The Spanish boss has admitted to monitoring the situation regarding Owen's transfer but decided to opt out of a deal similar to the previous signing of returning Anfield legend Robbie Fowler.
"We had contact with different people and were analysing the situation. But if you want to play Torres and Gerrard there is not always a lot of space for other players." Benitez said, according to the Sunday People.
"When I brought back Robbie Fowler it was a different situation. We were looking for someone who could understand his role clearly and he was a good finisher.
"But we have a World Cup coming up and all the top players want to play. In his position it would be hard for Owen to play every week at Liverpool.
Benitez also believes there is enough strength in Liverpool's current strike force to leave them fully equipped for the 2009/10 Premier League campaign.
He continued: "We are confident in Kuyt, Babel, Ngog and Voronin for next season. We have players with quality."

"Mourinho broke his word"
Glen Johnson says a row with Jose Mourinho ended his career at Chelsea.
England right-back Johnson, who completed a £17 million move from Portsmouth to Liverpool, accused former Blues boss Mourinho of breaking promises when they were both at Stamford Bridge.
Johnson revealed he realised he would have to continue his career elsewhere when he did not feature against FC Barcelona in Champions League before later moving on to Pompey for £4 million.
Johnson said: "I remember the lowest point was when Chelsea were set to play FC Barcelona in the Champions League. We had a couple of Premier League games to play before we played Barca and Mourinho picked me for one of those games and told me in front of 5 witnesses that if I played well I would keep the shirt."
"I immediately told my agent that it didn't matter how well I played I would be dropped - because Mourinho wouldn't want me anywhere near the team for the Barca game. Sure enough, I was voted man of the match - and I was dropped from the squad."
"That was the day I knew I had to leave Chelsea. Managers have to stick to their word. You have to be able to trust them."

Robin van Persie Rejected Chelsea, Inter, Juventus And Manchester City
The Dutch ace has revealed he turned down several top clubs in favour of staying in north London.
Arsenal striker Robin van Persie reportedly turned down the chance to join Chelsea, Inter, Juventus and Manchester City in order to stay a Gunner.
The Dutchman ended much speculation over his future by recently signing a new four-year deal at Arsenal.
However, according to the Sunday Mirror, the 25-year-old did have offers from elsewhere, including Chelsea, but decided to resist and remain at the Emirates.
Speaking to the British tabloid, the striker revealed how he had made his decision to stay in north London.
“I made a list. I wrote on one side what I had. And I wrote down what was lacking,” he revealed.
“At Arsenal, Arsene Wenger values my contribution to the team, my fellow players show the same appreciation and everyone who works in the club is wonderful and so warm to me.
“Apart from all that I have a great connection with the supporters. I find it fascinating how they show their love for me as a player.
“My heart says that I cannot play in the shirt of another club for the next four years.”
The forward also insisted that he was hopeful he could win more trophies at Arsenal and that he was determined to help the Gunners claim silverware once more.
“The desire to win trophies is even bigger now,” he added.
“It would have been easy to say 'We had no chance again to win a trophy, I quit and will sign for another club'.
“But that's not me. I am not a quitter.”
The Dutch ace also insisted that money was never an issue.
"Now the club have shown their appreciation. But it is not the money-side why I signed a new deal,” he said.
"All I want to feel is a bit of respect and a good relationship with everyone at the club.
“And that's what I have here."

Portsmouth accept Sunderland's bid for Crouch
Portsmouth have reportedly accepted a £12 million bid from Sunderland from Peter Crouch.
Crouch is keen to leave Pompey and a host of Premier League clubs have been chasing him. According to Daily Mail, the Black Cats have now had a bid accepted.
Indeed, the club are so keen to sign Crouch that they are ready to offer him £70.000-per-week, making him the highest paid player in the club's history.
Crouch is said to favour a move to Fulham, since he grew up in that area, but it is unlikely that the London club could match Sunderland's offer.
