Ronaldinho Sends Message To Deco After Missing Testimonial
It was a real shame not to see Ronaldinho at Deco’s testimonial on Friday night at the Estadio Dragao. However, the Brazilian legend Ronaldinho took to Twitter to congratulate his former Barcelona teammate Deco.
He posted a picture of the pair on Twitter with the message: ‘One of the best players with whom I played and became champion! Congratulations for your victorious career, you deserved it!’
A number of past and present football stars featured including Van Bommel, Van Bronckhorst, Messi and of course, Deco.

Benzema signs Real extension
Real Madrid have revealed that France striker Karim Benzema has signed a contract extension with the European champions until 2019.
Benzema's contract was due to expire at the end of the upcoming campaign, but he has now committed his long-term future to the club.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed great success in his time at Santiago Bernabeu, winning La Liga in 2011/2012 as well as the UEFA Champions League last season and 2 Copa del Rey titles.
Benzema played a key role in Real's Champions League success, the 10th in the Spanish giants' history, scoring 5 goals in the competition including one in the semi-finals against Bayern Munchen.
He netted a further 19 in La Liga and the Copa del Rey, which Real also won by beating FC Barcelona, last term before finding the net 3 times in France's run to the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Brazil.
Benzema joined Real from Olympique Lyon back in 2009.
Modric pens new Real deal
Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2018.
The Croatia international initially signed a 5-year deal when joining Real in 2012, but has extended his contract by a further year.
Modric, 28-year-old, played a key role in the club's UEFA Champions League success last term, achieved when they beat city rivals Atletico Madrid after extra time.
The former Dinamo Zagreb man also played 34 of the side's 38 La Liga fixtures last season.
Real paid a reported fee of £33 million to Tottenham Hotspur for Modric, ending their protracted chase of the player.
Simeone banned for 8 matches
Diego Simeone has been handed an 8-match ban for his conduct during the second leg of the Supercopa de Espana.
The Argentine was sent from the touchline due to his over-exuberant protests in the 25th minute of the match against Real Madrid on Friday, and was seen to tap the 4th official on the back of the head twice in the aftermath.
Atletico went on to win the 2-legged encounter 2-1 on aggregate, but Simeone's behaviour was expected to land him in hot water.
After eventually making his way down the tunnel, Simeone continued to flout the rules by making his way into the stands to watch the remainder of the encounter.
He will also be required to pay more than €4000 in fines.
The suspension will see him missing from the dugout until October, sitting out Atletico's trip to Real Madrid on 13 September.
Mascherano signs new Barca contract
Javier Mascherano has put pen-to-paper on a new 4-year deal at FC Barcelona.
The Argentina international agreed fresh terms at Camp Nou in June before heading to the World Cup in Brazil, where he helped his country reach the Final.
However, the versatile 30-year-old continued to be linked with a move away from the Catalan club, with Serie A outfit Napoli and former club Liverpool touted as possible destinations.
Barca quickly dismissed speculation of a possible exit and revealed earlier this month that Mascherano would sign his new contract imminently.
And the club announced on Tuesday that Mascherano will be staying until at least 2018, with the option of a further 12-month extension also included in the agreement.
Mascherano - whose buy-out clause is €100 million - moved to Barca from Liverpool in August 2010.
During his time in Spain, he has won 2 La Liga titles, as well as the UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey.
Dani Alves to leave Barca
FC Barcelona have confirmed Dani Alves will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Brazil international's future had been one of the main talking points throughout the transfer window, with Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool among those rumoured to be among his suitors.
He opted to remain at Camp Nou for the 2014/2015 campaign and fight for his position under new head coach Luis Enrique.
However, Zubizarreta has now confirmed that the 31-year-old will end his lengthy association at the club at the end of the current campaign.

Villarreal suffer injury blows
Villarreal forward Giovani dos Santos is facing a spell on the sidelines due to a torn hamstring and Bojan Jokic is to undergo surgery.
Former FC Barcelona man Dos Santos was withdrawn in the second half of Mexico's friendly against Chile in California on Sunday and returned to his club to be assessed.
Villarreal revealed on Tuesday that the 25-year-old is now facing a lay-off after suffering the injury to his left leg.
Jokic was thought to be close to returning from injury, but Villarreal have announced that the Slovenia international will have an operation to repair damaged cartilage in his right knee on Wednesday.
Villarreal coach Marcelino is also without striker Ikechukwu Uche (bruised quadriceps) and Jaume Costa (hamstring).
Khedira undergoes knee surgery
Real midfielder Sami Khedira has undergone surgery on a knee problem.
The Germany international is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, but has also now received treatment on his left knee.

Atletico Madrid could be without Mario Mandzukic for up to 2 weeks as he recovers from having surgery on a broken nose.
The Croatia international striker suffered the injury after being elbowed in the faced by Olympiacos' Pajtim Kasami in the opening stages of Tuesday's Champions League contest.
Mandzukic was able to play on for the entire match and found the net as Atletico were beaten 3-2 in their Group A opener.
Atletico announced on Wednesday that the forward was to have surgery, and an update was provided by club doctor Pedro Luis Llopis on Friday.

FC Barcelona full-back Daniel Alves says he has agreed to join a Premier League club next season.

Barca confirm Iniesta injury
FC Barcelona have confirmed that Andres Iniesta suffered a calf injury in EL Clasico but it remains unclear how long he will be ruled out for.
The Spain midfielder had to be withdrawn with just under 20 minutes remaining in Barca's 3-1 La Liga defeat against arch-rivals Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.
Iniesta pulled up holding his right leg and signalled to the bench that he was unable to continue.
