Vietto makes Atletico move
Villarreal have sold Argentinian striker Luciano Vietto to Atletico Madrid, club president Fernando Roig announced on Monday.
Vietto joined Villarreal last summer from Argentinian side Racing Club on a reported €5.5 million transfer deal and signed a 5-year deal with the Yellow Submarine.
Vietto enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Primera Division scoring 12 goals in 32 league appearances to help the club finish 6th in La Liga.
Villarreal have reportedly accepted a €15 million offer from Atletico to acquire the 21-year-old striker.
Atletico coach Diego Simeone knows Vietto well having signed the player from Estudiantes while he was in charge of Argentinian side Racing Club in 2011.

Neville appointed Valencia number 2
Former Manchester United and England defender Phil Neville has been appointed assistant coach of Valencia.
The 38-year-old has been working in the media since being informed he would not be part of Louis van Gaal's coaching staff at Manchester United.
Neville returned to Old Trafford to work under David Moyes, who he played for at Everton, and will now come up against the Scot's Real Sociedad side in La Liga next season after he was confirmed as Nuno Espirito Santo's number 2.
He replaces Ian Cathro, who left his role at Mestalla at the end of last season and has been strongly linked with the position of assistant head coach to Steve McClaren at Newcastle.
Neville is a shareholder in Salford City, an English non-League side who Valencia owner Peter Lim bought a 50% stake in last year.

Marcelo signs new Real contract
Real Madrid full-back Marcelo has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until 2020.
The Brazil international came through the youth ranks at Fluminese in his home land, before moving to Real in January 2007.
Marcelo has proved a fans' favourite at Santiago Bernabeu due to his willingness to get forward from the back.
The 27-year-old has won the La Liga title on 3 occasions during his time in the Spanish capital, the last of which came in 2012 under the leadership of Jose Mourinho.
His greatest achievement in a Real shirt came in the 2013-2014 season, though, when - led by former coach Carlo Ancelotti - Marcelo was a part of the side that beat city rivals Atletico Madrid to clinch the UEFA Champions League, Real's 10th triumph in Europe's premier competition.
Marcelo has also added further domestic success in the shape of 2 Copa del Rey titles.
He will now stay at the club until June 2020, by which time he will be 32-year-old.

La Liga rights sold for €600 million
Spain's Professional Football League (LFP) has officially sold its 2015-2016 television rights to Telefonica for €600 million.
The new agreement will see Telefonica, primarily known for its telecommunications operations, including O2 in the United Kingdom, broadcast La Liga, Segunda Division and, on a pay-per-view basis, the Copa del Rey to Spanish households next season.
Athletic release Toquero
Athletic Bilbao have released Gaizka Toquero on a free transfer by mutual consent after 7 years at the club.
The 30-year-old was signed by Joaquin Caparros in 2008 and went on to make 207 appearances for the Basques, scoring 25 goals.
However, his star faded in recent seasons, with the likes of Aritz Aduriz arriving and Inaki Williams emerging from the youth set-up.
Consequently, Athletic have allowed Toquero to seek pastures new, despite the player having another year left on his contract.

Ronaldo and Benzema to miss Audi Cup
Real Madrid will be forced to cope without injured duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema for the upcoming Audi Cup.
Ronaldo, who scored 61 goals in all competitions for Real last season, misses out after suffering lower back pain in training.
Benzema, meanwhile, has picked up an injury to his right thigh and neither will be risked by Rafael Benitez with the start of the new La Liga season looming on 23 August.
Benitez's side travel to Germany for the tournament, and take on Tottenham Hotspur in Tuesday's semi-finals before either a Final or third/fourth place play-off with Bayern Munchen or AC Milan.

Pepe set to miss Real's opener
Real Madrid defender Pepe has a leg injury and is set to miss the opening match of their La Liga season against Sporting Gijon on 23 August, his club said on Friday.
The Portuguese centre-back was forced off after just 16 minutes of a friendly against Bayern Munchen on Wednesday, which Real lost 1-0.
According to Spanish media reports, he could be out of action for up to 3 weeks, which would rule him out of their match against newly-promoted Sporting.
Benitez is also set to be without forward Karim Benzema, who has a thigh injury.

Real confirm new Ramos deal
Sergio Ramos has ended speculation over his future by agreeing a new 5-year contract with Real Madrid.
The Real captain had been linked with a big-money move to Manchester United amid a reported fall-out with club president Florentino Perez, but the Spanish giants revealed on Monday that he will put pen-to-paper on a fresh deal at Santiago Bernabeu.
Louis van Gaal had been keen to take Ramos to Old Trafford, with a potential part-exchange deal for United goalkeeper David de Gea mooted.
Indeed, Ramos reportedly informed Real of his desire to move to the Premier League earlier in the transfer window - a request that is said to have been flatly rejected by Perez.
And the 29-year-old, who joined Real from FC Sevilla in 2005, has now opted to extend his stay at the Bernabeu.
