Radovanovic season is over
Genoa have confirmed that midfielder Ivan Radovanovic will go under the knife for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.
The 31-year-old Serbia international sustained the injury during last week's 3-0 victory away to Bologna.
A statement from the club notes Radovanovic will have surgery with a specialist in Lyon tomorrow.
It usually takes 5 to 6 months to fully recover from a torn ACL, so it's safe to say the season is already over for Radovanovic.
He had played 22 games for Genoa this term between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
Koulibaly to miss Barcelona
Kalidou Koulibaly is still not training regularly with Napoli, so it's feared he will miss both games with Brescia and FC Barcelona.
The Senegal international has been struggling since a serious thigh strain on 15 December, only returning for one appearance against Lecce on 9 February.
He looked very rusty and was left out of the squad for the trip to Cagliari, as coach Gennaro Gattuso confirmed the defender still felt pain in his thigh.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Koulibaly did not train today either and is not expected to be in with the group tomorrow.
It means he'll miss the Serie A match with Brescia on Friday and looks as if he'll be out of next week's Champions League round of 16 tie with Barcelona too.
At this point, Kostas Manolas will have to be partnered by Nikola Maksimovic.
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored for the 11th consecutive Serie A game, equalling the record set by Gabriel Batistuta and Fabio Quagliarella.
Ronaldo found the net against SPAL at the Stadio Paolo Mazza this evening.
Ronaldo had previously netted in 10 consecutive games, a run stretching from 1 December when he scored in the 2-2 draw against Sassuolo.
In that streak, the Portuguese star scored 15 times.
Ronaldo now equals previous Serie A record holders Batistuta and Quagliarella for finding the net in 11 rounds on the trot.
The legendary Argentine hitman scored in the first 11 games of the 1994-1995 season for Fiorentina.
Batistuta's record remained intact for over 24 years, when Quagliarella equalled the record last season.
The former Napoli and Juventus striker scored 14 times over the 11-game run from October 2018 through to January 2019.
Batistuta, by contrast, netted 13 times during his stretch, from September to November in 1994.
Ronaldo has now joined the record, and could stand out on his own should he score against Inter in the Derby d'Italia next week.

Mertens matches Hamsik record
Dries Mertens has equalled Marek Hamsik as Napoli's greatest goal scorer in the club's history with 121 goals, matching the record against FC Barcelona.
The Belgian international scored his 120th for the club in the 1-0 over Cagliari earlier this month, which took him to within one of the former Napoli midfielder.
Now Mertens has matches the record with his goal against Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 at Stadio San Paolo.
The feat is all the more remarkable considering Mertens had only hit double figures once in his first 3 seasons with Napoli.
His breakout season came in 2016-2017, when he was moved into a forward position by Maurizio Sarri in the aftermath of Arkadiusz Milik's cruciate ligament injury in October 2016.
Mertens bagged 34 goals in all competition that season.
Mertens has beaten Hamsik's tally in just 310 games, compared to the Slovak's 520 appearances.
Hamsik's highest haul in a single season was, like Mertens, also in 2016-2017, when he scored 15 in all competition from midfield.
Mertens' contract expires in the summer, but still has time to surpass Hamsik's record.
Mertens out for 10 days
Napoli forward Dries Mertens will reportedly be out for 10 days after suffering a severe bruise on the ankle against FC Barcelona in the Champions League.
The Belgium international scored the opener for the Partenopei and equalled Marek Hamsik's record as all-time leading goalscorer for the Azzurri.
But his performance against Barca at San Paolo ended in another injury, as Sergio Busquets hit him with a high foot and made sure the forward had to leave the pitch only moments after.
Now, Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that the attacker will need 10 days to recover from a severe bruised ankle and will sit out against FC Torino in the League this weekend.
The Sky Sport Italia journalist claims the prognosis has revealed that the attacker should be back in time to play in the return leg at Camp Nou.
Pellegrini out for 3 matches
Paulo Fonseca has reportedly lost another key member due to a muscle injury, as Lorenzo Pellegrini will miss Roma's next 3 games.
The attacking midfielder joins Nicolo Zaniolo and Javier Pastore on the treatment table, meaning that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will most likely take place in the middle of Fonseca's trident behind Edin Dzeko in the upcoming games.
The injury forced Pellegrini off at half-time against Lecce and will now miss at least the next 3 games against Gent in the Europa League and Cagliari and Sampdoria in Serie A.
Mertens agrees new Napoli contract
Dries Mertens met with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis today and it's reported he agreed a new 2-year contract.
Photographs emerged this afternoon of Mertens sitting outside at lunch with the club president.
According to multiple sources, including Sky Sport Italia expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the meeting was meant to be a discussion, but proved far more fruitful than either party expected.
It's reported Napoli have agreed to give Mertens a hefty signing-on fee of €2 million, with a 2-year contract worth €4,5 million per season plus another €1 million in performance-related bonuses.
Mertens is now the joint all-time Napoli goalscorer with 121 goals, on a par with Marek Hamsik, equalling the record during a 1-1 Champions League draw with FC Barcelona.
His deal had been due to expire in June.
Atalanta breaking records
Atalanta's demolition of Lecce is only the second time in Serie A history that a 2-7 score line has been recorded.
La Dea brushed aside the Giallorossi in the second half after going into half-time with the game at 2-2.
Gian Piero Gasperini's side then scored a further 5 in the second half.
The score line is such a rarity it's only the second time it's happened in the league's history.
The first time was in the 1951-1952 season, when Juventus beat Udinese on 30 March 1952.
The only game that has come close to matching that score line was Fiorentina 3-7 AC Milan in the 1992-1993 season, when Ruud Gullit, Marco Van Basten and Daniele Massaro all scored 2 goals apiece for the Rossoneri in 4 October 1992.
Atalanta have scored 5+ goals for the fifth time this season in Serie A, equalling a record set by AC Milan in 1958-1959.
La Dea also join Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain for having 3 players scoring into double figures this season, with Duvan Zapata joining Josip Ilicic and Luis Muriel.
Atalanta have scored 70 goals so far this season in Serie A.

Matuidi extends Juventus contract
Juventus have activated the option to extend Blaise Matuidi's contract until June 2021, confirmed the club.
The news had been expected and already hinted at by the player himself.
When Juve released financial balance sheets, the extra cost of the contract was spotted, meaning it has already been written into their books.
France international Matuidi's contract had been due to expire in June, but there was an option to extend.
He will turn 33-year-old next week and is still in quarantine after testing positive for coronavirus.
Matuidi joined Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain for €25 million in the summer of 2017.
Lopez suffers wrist injury
AS Roma goalkeeper Pau Lopez faces several weeks on the sidelines after suffering a wrist injury in training.
Roma only resumed individual training at Trigoria last week, but Gianluca Di Marzio reports there has already been a casualty.
As per the Sky Sport Italia journalist, Lopez was forced to leave today's session early, owing to a minor fracture in his left wrist.
He is expected to be out of action for 3-4 weeks, leaving him at risk of missing the Giallorossi's first Serie A games back after the coronavirus outbreak.
Perotti suffers new muscle injury
AS Roma are hit by another setback ahead of the resumption, as Diego Perotti joins Pau Lopez on the treatment table with a muscle injury.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Argentine winger sustained a muscle fatigue injury during training at Trigoria.
His conditions will be monitored daily but for now, the 31-year-old will have to work separately.
The setbacks continue for Perotti, who has missed 16 games this term through continuous muscle injuries and is out for the third time already in 2019-2020.
In October, the former Genoa man had to stop for 2 months because of a thigh injury and coach Paulo Fonseca, who also lost goalkeeper Pau Lopez to a wrist injury earlier this week, might have to cope without the duo for the first Serie A games back after the coronavirus outbreak.
Napoli confirm Manolas thigh injury
Napoli confirm Kostas Manolas suffered a grade II distraction of the semi-membrane in the right thigh muscle during training.
The Greek international limped off early during his session yesterday and underwent tests today.
It remains to be seen how long he'll be out of action for, but the statement does note "his condition will be evaluated over the coming weeks".
That would suggest it is not a short-term issue.
Serie A sides can resume group training from Monday, with a plan to start playing games from 13 June.

Barreto leaves Sampdoria
As expected, Edgar Barreto has officially terminated his contract with Sampdoria by mutual consent.
The Paraguay international was only tied to the club until the end of the season and barely featured this term, but it's believed he is returning to South America for personal reasons.
Barreto played at Sampdoria for 5 years, registering 5 goals in 110 games for the club.
His Serie A experience goes even further back, as he has been in Italy since 2007 thanks to experiences with Reggina, Atalanta, Palermo and Sampdoria.
Barreto leaves Serie A after 264 games and 11 goals, while he also featured 63 times in Serie B.
Season over for Baselli
Daniele Baselli's season is over after FC Torino announced the midfielder would undergo knee surgery on Monday.
It was confirmed earlier this week that Baselli had sprained his right knee and sustained ACL damage.
Toro have now followed up that, after consultations, the decision has been made for the 28-year-old to go under the knife on 8 June.
The former Atalanta man will therefore miss the rest of the 2019-2020 campaign, which resumes on 20 June.
Baselli made 21 appearances before the coronavirus lockdown, providing 4 assists.
Higuain set to miss Milan clash
Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuain has reportedly been ruled out of the return leg against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia, struggling with a muscle injury.
Gazzetta dello Sport reveals that the Bianconeri striker must wait for his return to the pitch, as he's the latest in line of a long list of injuries in Serie A since the resumption of activities.
The long break has caused some concern among football medics and another muscle problem for Higuain follows injury scares to high profiled players like Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Higuain's problem shouldn't rule him out for long, but the newspaper claims he will definitely sit out the semi-finals against his former team.

Dries Mertens has made history, as his goal against Inter Milano this evening allowed him to surpass Marek Hamsik as Napoli's all-time top scorer.
It is a wonderful way for the 33-year-old Belgian to celebrate his imminent contract extension at Stadio San Paolo.
Mertens had been on a par with Hamsik after finding the net 121 times in the Partenopei jersey when the lockdown brought football to a halt for 3 months.
He took his tally up to 122 during this evening's Coppa Italia semi-finals against Inter, which was played behind closed doors in Naples.
Mertens has been at Napoli since leaving PSV Eindhoven in 2013 and become so beloved by the locals as to be given the most Neapolitan of nicknames, Ciro.
With tonight's strike, Mertens has now scored 122 goals in 310 competitive appearances for Napoli.
He also contributed 73 assists during his Azzurri career.

Juve trio not ready for Coppa Final
It's reported Gonzalo Higuain, Aaron Ramsey and Giorgio Chiellini still won't be ready for Juventus in the Coppa Italia Final against Napoli on Wednesday.
The Bianconeri squeezed past 10-man AC Milan in the semi-finals, a 0-0 draw enough thanks to the 1-1 first leg result at San Siro.
As for the Partenopei, they held Inter to a 1-1 draw last night, going through 2-1 on aggregate.
The Final is at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Wednesday 17 June.
A draw made this morning has confirmed Napoli will be the home side on neutral turf, with Juventus qualifying as the visitors.
According to the latest reports, Juve will still have to do without injured Higuain, Ramsey and Chiellini, who were already ruled out of Friday's semi-finals.
It means Cristiano Ronaldo may well again be used as a centre-forward, flanked by Paulo Dybala and either Douglas Costa or Federico Bernardeschi.
Napoli will be without suspended goalkeeper David Ospina, along with injured Kostas Manolas and Stanislav Lobotka.
Mertens signs new Napoli deal
Dries Mertens has finally put pen-to-paper on a new Napoli contract, keeping him at the club for at least 2 more years.

Bologna and Rodrigo Palacio have agreed to extend his contract at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara until June 2021.

Torino extend 4 deals
FC Torino have officially extended Cristian Ansaldi, Lorenzo De Silvestri, Samir Ujkani and coach Moreno Longo's contracts until 31 August.
The 3 players previous deals expired on 30 June and have agreed to extend for the next 2 months, to help the Granata conclude the season in the best possible way.
Their futures are still uncertain and the same goes for coach Longo, picked up his first win against Udinese on Tuesday, having struggled to turn things around since replacing Walter Mazzarri at Stadio Grande Torino.
However, he has agreed a new contract to remain out the season but will has some convincing to do during the run-in in order to earn a long-term deal.

Vlahovic given 2-match ban
Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic has received a 2-match ban for his elbow on Patricio Gil, while Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi is suspended for the Torino trip.

Buffon and Chiellini extend at Juve
Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini have officially extended their Juventus contracts to June 2021.
Both their current deals were set to expire tomorrow, although the extensions were never really in doubt.
Captain Chiellini will turn 36-year-old in August and said he intends to play on for at least one more year.
He has been in the Juve squad since 2005, amassing 509 competitive appearances for the club, scoring 36 goals.
As for Buffon, the goalkeeper has 669 games under his belt in the Bianconeri jersey since arriving from Parma in 2001.
There was one year's sabbatical in France with Paris Saint-Germain in the 2018-2019 campaign, but he returned "home" the next season.
