Fee agreed for Boro starlet
Lee Cattermole is poised to swap Middlesbrough for Wigan Athletic after The Latics confirmed they have succeeded with a bid for the England Under-21 international.
It is reported that Wigan have offered £3.5 million for the midfielder who will now move to JJB Stadium if he can agree personal terms and pass a medical.
Cattermole made just 10 league starts for Boro last season and is believed to be seeking regular first team football at the age of 20.
Gareth Southgate has brought French youngster Didier Digard to The Riverside this summer and it appears that Cattermole will be a casualty of the summer changes on Teesside.
If he does complete his move to Wigan then the midfielder will join Amr Zaki, Olivier Kapo and Daniel de Ridder in strengthening Steve Bruce's options this summer.
