Ajax sign Alvarez
Ajax have announced an agreement with Club America for Mexico international Edson Alvarez, who is expected to sign a 5-year contract.
The Eredivisie club added the agreement, which is reportedly for a fee around £14 million, is subject to a medical.
Ajax director for football Marc Overmars had previously talked up the possibility of the club moving for the Alvarez, saying the 21-year-old was a target for them regardless of the situation regarding Matthijs de Ligt, who has since had his move to Juventus confirmed.
The Mexico international developed as a center-back at the club level, but has since featured at right-back internationally, though this summer saw him move into a holding midfield role for Gerardo Martino's squad.
Alvarez had spent the entirety of his young career with Club America, who released a statement on Twitter thanking the versatile defender for his contributions to the club.
Alvarez broke into America's senior side during the 2016-2017 season, playing 21 times and scoring a pair of goals.
He remained a key contributor for the club over the next 2 seasons, appearing in 31 and 34 Liga MX contests over those campaigns respectively.
In 2018-2019, Alvarez also added his first bit of silverware to his trophy case, earning both the Liga MX title when Club America defeated Cruz Azul in the 2018-2019 Apertura, as well as the Copa MX.
Alvarez enjoyed international success this summer, starting 5 of Mexico's Gold Cup contests, including the Final where El Tri triumphed over regional rivals the United States by a 1-0 scoreline to take back the Concacaf crown.
Seri completes Galatasaray loan move
Galatasaray have confirmed the signing of Jean Michael Seri on loan from Championship club Fulham.
The Turkish champions completed the temporary deal on Thursday and have the option to make it permanent at the end of the 2019-2020 campaign.
Seri joined Fulham from Nice last summer for a club-record fee and played 34 matches, with a goal and 3 assists to his credit during his debut season in England.
The Ivorian midfielder becomes the second player from Craven Cottage to join Fatih Terim's team this summer after Ryan Babel completed a free transfer in June.
On the international scene, Seri played 2 games at the 2019 African Cup of Nations for Ivory Coast, who bowed out of the tournament after a quarter-finals loss to Algeria.
Knockaert having Fulham medical
Anthony Knockaert is undergoing a medical at Fulham ahead of a transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion, Sky Sports News understands.
The Cottagers are keen to add to their attacking options after seeing Ryan Babel and Jean-Michael Seri leave for Galatasaray and winger Andre Schurrle return to Borussia Dortmund following the expiry of his loan deal.
In this transfer window alone, Fulham have already signed Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Ivan Cavaleiro on an initial loan with option to buy and gave frontman Aleksandar Mitrovic a new 5-year deal keeping him at the club until 2024.
The 27-year-old originally joined Brighton in 2016 from Standard Liege and went on to make 139 appearances across all competitions, scoring 27 goals during his 3 years at the Amex Stadium.

Roma sign Veretout
AS Roma have announced the signing of Jordan Veretout from Fiorentina as the former France U21 international joins initially on loan for one season before the club is obliged to purchase the player outright for €16 million.
The loan fee will cost the Giallorossi €1 million, with the player already having signed a 5-year deal that will see him tied to Stadio Olimpico until 2024. Roma will also have to pay up to €2 million in variable bonus fees depending on certain sporting criteria.
A World Cup winner at U23 level, Veretout made up part of a 3-man midfield that lifted the trophy in Turkey in 2013, the Ancenis native lining up alongside Paul Pogba and Geoffrey Kondogbia.
Having already turned out for Nantes in his homeland and Aston Villa, the 26-year-old now continues his Serie A adventure under the tutelage of Paulo Fonseca.

Filipe Luis confirms Flamengo switch
Filipe Luis confirmed he is joining Brazilian side Flamengo after the full-back bid farewell to Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
The 33-year-old's contract with the Spanish side expired this summer and he has been linked with several clubs in recent months, ranging from Paris Saint-Germain to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
But the left-back looks set to return to his homeland instead, as reports suggest he has agreed to a 2-year contract with Flamengo.
Confirming the transfer at an event at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday, he admitted he wants to see out the rest of his career in Brazil.
He originally joined Atleti from Deportivo La Coruna in 2010 and went on to win La Liga, the Copa del Rey, Europa League and UEFA SuperCup as well as reaching a Champions League Final before leaving for Chelsea in 2014.
The former Figueirense player was unable to break into the Chelsea starting XI and returned to the Spanish capital a year later, continuing his success with another Europa League victory and second Champions League Final appearance.
Overall, Filipe Luis has played 333 matches and won 7 trophies with the Rojiblancos.

Fekir set for Betis switch
France midfielder Nabil Fekir will undergo a medical at Real Betis later today, ahead of a permanent €20 million switch from Olympique Lyon.
The 26-year-old had one year left to run on his existing contract at Stade de Lyon but was given permission to speak to potential suitors at the end of last season.
The mercurial playmaker had no intention of extending his stay in Ligue 1, with it his desire to undertake a new challenge after 6 successful years in his homeland.
Lyon coach Sylvinho excused Fekir from pre-season training so he could fly to Spain and negotiate terms on a 5-year contract with Betis on Monday.
The France international is expected to put pen-to-paper on the long term deal, which brings to an end one of the year's longest-running transfer sagas.
It is Goal's understanding the Andalucian club will pay an initial €20 million for Fekir, with the player and Lyon entitled to a percentage of the incomes that Betis could receive in a future transfer.
Fekir played 180 games for Lyon across all competitions, finding the net on 68 occasions, but failed to win a single major trophy during his time at the club.
The midfielder could be in line to make his competitive debut for Betis on 19 August, when Joan Francesc Ferrer's side take on Real Valladolid at Benito Villamarin Stadium in their 2019-2020 La Liga opener.

Newcastle to sign Joelinton
Newcastle United are closing in on the signing of TSG Hoffenheim striker Joelinton, Sky Sports News understands.
Newcastle have agreed a fee in the region of £40 million with Hoffenheim and the Brazilian is on Tyneside finalising his move.
His imminent arrival at St. James' Park will see Newcastle break their transfer record for the second time in 7 months, with the fee for Joelinton surpassing the £21 million the club paid for Miguel Almiron in January.
The deal also represents a record sale for Hoffenheim, surpassing the £29 million they received from Liverpool for forward Roberto Firmino in 2015.
Joelinton, who has been capped at U17 level by Brazil, scored 11 goals in 35 appearances for Hoffenheim in all competitions last season.
The 22-year-old will become Steve Bruce's first signing as Newcastle manager and will bolster the club's forward options following the departures of Ayoze Perez and Joselu to Leicester and Deportivo Alaves respectively.

Boca Juniors confirm capture of De Rossi
Former AS Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi has signed with Boca Juniors, the Argentine giants have announced.
De Rossi joins the club on a short-term contract, after playing over 600 times across nearly two full decades with Roma.
His time with the Serie A side came to an end following the 2018-2019 season, with the midfielder posting an emotional farewell in which he thanked current and former team-mates and "every Roma fan" for his time with the club.
Boca made their intentions clear last week amid rumours that the 35-year-old was destined to sign for the Argentine outfit, claiming that the deal was 99% done and that De Rossi would in fact be flying to Buenos Aires to finish off the deal.
De Rossi arrived in Argentina on Thursday amid massive fanfare, with Boca posting on social media accounts when he arrived in the country and essentially confirming his signing hours later with a slightly cryptic post showing him at the club and another saying he was "home".
De Rossi leaves Roma as a 2-time Coppa Italia winner with the club, having also won the Serie A Footballer of the Year award in 2009.
He also comes to Argentina as a World Cup winner, claiming the title with Italy in 2006.
His list of personal honours also includes FIFA FIFPro World XI nomination in 2009 and a place on the Team of the Tournament for the 2012 European Championship, which saw Italy lose to Spain in the Final.

Rode returns to Eintracht
Sebastian Rode has completed his return to Eintracht Frankfurt, signing a 5-year deal after leaving Borussia Dortmund.
Rode spent the second half of last season on loan at Eintracht, making 20 appearances in all competitions.
And last season's Europa League semi-finalists have now sealed a permanent deal for the midfielder, with a €4 million transfer fee reported to have changed hands.
Rode spent 4 years in Frankfurt earlier in his career before joining Bayern Munchen for a short spell in 2014.
Rode could miss the start of the new Bundesliga season as he is still recovering from a knee injury sustained in the Europa League last 4 tie against Chelsea, but the club say he's making "excellent progress" in his rehabilitation.
Frankfurt had a disappointing finish to the 2018-2019 season which promised much as they entered the final stages.
They were in 4th place in the Bundesliga with weeks to go in the season, a position which would have brought them Champions League football.
They slipped away though, allowing Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Monchengladbach and VfL Wolfsburg to bypass them as they dropped to 7th, meaning they must play Europa League qualification matches.

Wolverhampton agree Cutrone deal
AC Milan striker Patrick Cutrone will reportedly sign a 4-year contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Cutrone is set to join Wolverhampton in a €22 million transfer, with the Rossoneri to receive €18 million up-front from his sale, plus €4 million in bonuses.
Milan News has since followed up that the forward will pen a 4-year deal worth €2 million per season with the Premier League side.
That is virtually twice as much as what the 21-year-old currently earns at San Siro.
He is expected to leave for England on Monday or Tuesday to complete his transfer.
Cutrone broke out for Il Diavolo during the 2017-2018 campaign and ended it as their top scorer with 18 goals in all competitions.
However, the subsequent arrivals of Gonzalo Higuain and Krzysztof Piatek limited him to just 3 Serie A strikes last season.

Pepe to fly in for Arsenal medical
Nicolas Pepe will arrive in England on Tuesday as his record-breaking move to Arsenal edges closer.
The Gunners have spent the past 48 hours locked in talks with Pepe's representatives after agreeing a £72 million deal with Lille for the 24-year-old attacker.
There are a few minor details still to be ironed out between both sides, but Pepe is scheduled to travel to England from France later today to put the finishing touches on his move and undergo his medical.
He will then sign a 5-year deal which will see him earn around £150,000 per week, with Arsenal hopeful he will be fit enough to play some sort of part in their opening Premier League fixture of the season at Newcastle on 11 August.
The Gunners are in action in France on Wednesday night when they take on Angers and they complete their pre-season campaign with a game against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Sunday.
Arsenal will fly into Spain on the day of the game and it's too early to say whether Unai Emery will consider handing Pepe some minutes against the La Liga champions.
Pepe scored 22 goals last season as well as contributing 11 assists as Lille finished second in Ligue 1 to qualify for the Champions League.
He predominantly plays on the right side of the attack, although he can operate on the left or as a striker.
Arsenal will pay Lille around £20 million up-front, before paying off what remains of the fee in a series of instalments over the length of his 5-year contract.
Everton agree Kean fee
Everton have agreed a transfer fee of £27,5 million, potentially rising to £36,6 million with Juventus for striker Moise Kean, according to Sky in Italy.
The 19-year old Italy international could earn around £52,000 per week, it is reported, with a medical possible as early as Wednesday.
The deal is expected to include a buy-back clause for Juve, and the fee could potentially rise to £36,6 million.
Kean scored 6 Serie A goals in 13 appearances last season and has also played 3 times for Italy, scoring twice.
The deal would be Everton's 4th signing of the summer having secured Andre Gomes from FC Barcelona, Jonas Lossl from Huddersfield Town and Fabian Delph from Manchester City.
Amiri swaps Hoffenheim for Leverkusen
The Hoffenheim exodus continues. Following the exits of Julian Nagelsmann, Nico Schulz, Joelinton and Kerem Demirbay, Nadiem Amiri has opted to move to Bayer Leverkusen.
While Hoffenheim have shepherded a few new players through the door, the spine of the side who impressed under Julian Nagelsmann's guidance continues to be stripped away. Nadiem Amiri has joined Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of around €11 million and follows Nico Schulz, Joelinton and Kerem Demirbay in leaving the club in this window.
Amiri came through the ranks in Sinsheim and the 22-year-old was part of Germany's U21 EURO winning side in 2017. The midfielder has won 24 caps for his country at that level.
With the departures of Julian Brandt and Dominik Kohr, the Werkself looked a little light in midfield but the club may also have one eye on the future, with Kai Havertz not expected to stay at the Bay ArenA much beyond this season.

Villa agree Heaton fee
Aston Villa have agreed a £9 million fee to sign goalkeeper Tom Heaton from Burnley.
The 33-year-old England international, who had entered the last year of his contract at Turf Moor, is set to become Villa's 12th signing of the summer.
Heaton is expected to travel to the Midlands on Wednesday to undergo a medical.
Heaton started Burnley's last 2 pre-season friendlies, including Tuesday night's 6-1 win over Nice.
The former Manchester United youth player joined Burnley from Bristol City in 2013, and has since made 200 appearances under Sean Dyche.
Heaton was part of Gareth Southgate's most recent England squad, but the last of his 3 senior international appearances came in a friendly against France in June 2017.
Fiorentina sign Boateng
Fiorentina have officially signed attacker Kevin-Prince Boateng from Sassuolo on a permanent basis.
The deal was confirmed on Fiorentina's official website, with the club paying €1 million for Boateng, who has put pen-to-paper on a 2-year contract.
The 32-year-old is vastly experienced after spells with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Eintracht Frankfurt and AC Milan, winning a Scudetto and Supercoppa with the latter.
He scored 5 goals in 15 appearances for Sassuolo before spending the second half of last season at FC Barcelona, where he played 4 times without finding the back of the net.
He becomes the first major signing of the Rocco Commisso era at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Defrel in permanent Cagliari move
Gregoire Defrel's move to Cagliari is imminent after he was left out of AS Roma's squad for their friendly against Perugia.
Gazzetta dello Sport writes the Sardinians will sign the striker on a €3 million loan with obligation to buy for €12 million plus €3 million in add-ons.
He is expected to put pen-to-paper on a contract worth €1,5 million per season, propped up by performance-related bonuses.
The Frenchman, who turned 28-year-old last month, was not included in Roma's squad for their pre-season clash with Perugia on Wednesday evening.

Schurrle makes Spartak loan switch
Germany forward Andre Schurrle has joined Spartak Moscow on a season-long loan deal, his parent club Borussia Dortmund have announced.
Bundesliga giants Dortmund confirmed the agreement on Wednesday, meaning the 28-year-old will spend his second successive season away from the club.
Schurrle made 24 Premier League appearances for Fulham last season, scoring 6 goals.
Spartak have the option to sign the former Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea and VfL Wolfsburg player permanently next year, with the fee reportedly set at €6 million .
He has played in 33 Bundesliga matches for Dortmund, scoring 3 goals.
Schurrle's arrival will boost a Spartak side sitting 10th in the Russian Premier League after 3 matches.
Malcom set to complete Zenit move
Zenit Sankt Petersburg are set to announce the signing of FC Barcelona winger Malcom, after the two clubs agreed a fee believed to be in the region of €40 million, plus €5 million in add-ons.
The La Liga champions fought off strong competition from AS Roma to sign the former Girondins Bordeaux star for €41 million just over a year ago.
But having made just 24 appearances in all competitions for Ernesto Valverde's side last season, the Brazilian is already on his way out of Camp Nou.
Malcom will earn around €6,5 million per season in Russia, whilst it is also understood that Barcelona will not have a buy-back option on the deal, which is expected to be made official on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old has a €180 million release clause in his contract, but Barcelona have made clear that they would be happy to sell the winger should anyone offer more than the €41 million fee spent on him last summer.
Porto sign Marchesin
Goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin, who also helped Club America win the 2019 Clausura Copa MX, is moving to FC Porto, the club announced.
The move was widely expected after the goalkeeper left the training ground Tuesday and returned in tears, hugging his team-mates. He's the latest player to move from Las Aguilas this summer, with promising defender Edson Alvarez sold to Ajax and veteran forward Oribe Peralta moved to Chivas earlier in the summer window.
Marchesin arrived in Liga MX from Lanus, first playing with Santos Laguna before moving to Mexico City. He was part of Argentina's 2019 Copa America roster, serving as Franco Armani's back-up.

Alves captained Brazil to Copa America glory on home soil in July - taking his career haul to 40 trophies.
The veteran's transfer was announced in a video on Sao Paulo's Twitter account, with the defender expressing his excitement to be back in his native country.
