Morata returns to Juventus on loan

Juventus have exercised their option to renew Alvaro Morata's loan from Atletico Madrid for a further season.

After Morata returned to the club last year the Bianconeri had an option to extend the deal by a further 12 months, buy the Spain international or terminate the agreement this summer.

Juventus have chosen to keep hold of the 28-year-old forward for another campaign, with the deal set to cost them a further €10 million.

The Spain international starred in Turin between 2014 and 2016, winning 2 Serie A titles in as many seasons while scoring in a losing effort in the 2015 Champions League Final against FC Barcelona.

Morata joined Chelsea and then Atletico Madrid before he returned to Juve ahead of the 2020-2021 season.

The striker scored 20 goals for Juventus last term, the most he's scored in a single season in a top 5 European league in his career.

Overall, Morata has scored 47 goals and recorded 27 assists in 137 appearances for Juventus.

Young agrees personal terms with Aston Villa

Ashley Young is undergoing a medical with Aston Villa having agreed personal terms to join his former club on a free transfer from Inter Milano.

Provided there are no issues with the medical, the former England international will sign a one-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.

Young will officially join on 1 July when his Inter contract has expired.

Young won Serie A last season with Inter and was offered a new one-year deal at the club but wanted to return to England to be closer to his family.

He also had offers from Burnley and Watford, where he began his career.

Young made 34 appearances in all competitions last season for Inter, who he joined from Manchester United in January 2020, and turns 36-year-old next month.

During his 4-and-a-half seasons at Villa from 2007-2011, Young played close to 200 games before his switch to United, where he won the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup.

Calhanoglu set to join Inter

AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is set to join city rivals Inter Milano on a free transfer, according to Sky in Italy.

The Turkey international will undergo a medical in Milano on Tuesday before signing a 3-year deal with the Serie A champions.

Inter have offered him a 3-year deal worth £4,3 million plus bonuses, better terms than AC Milan had put on the table ahead of his contract expiring next week.

He scored 4 goals and provided 10 assists for AC Milan this season to help them finish second in Serie A and clinch a Champions League return after a 7-year absence.

Donnarumma set to join PSG

AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is undergoing a medical in Rome ahead of a potential free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, according to Sky in Italy.

PSG are understood to have offered Donnarumma a 5-year deal with wages of around £10,3 million per year plus add-ons and will win the race to sign the goalkeeper should FC Barcelona not match or better their bid.

Donnarumma has been with the Italy national team at the Euros but was allowed to travel to Rome's Sant'Andrea hospital on Monday morning after their 1-0 win over Wales the day before made it 3 wins from 3.

Talks between AC Milan and Donnarumma's agent Mino Raiola had lasted several months, but the 22-year-old was unable to agree a new contract with the club he has represented since the age of 14.

Donnarumma made 251 appearances for the club in all competitions, keeping 88 clean sheets, since coming through the youth ranks in 2015 aged just 16.

Leeds reach agreement to sign Junior Firpo

Leeds United have reached an agreement to sign FC Barcelona defender Junior Firpo for €15 million, Goal can confirm.

Leeds have won the race for Firpo's signature ahead of several Premier League and Serie A clubs, with the 24-year-old set to be unveiled at Elland Road in time for the start of their pre-season campaign.

Firpo will become the Yorkshire outfit's first summer signing when the transfer is made official, with Barca eager to push it through as quickly as possible amid a financial crisis at Camp Nou.

Firpo is the third player Barca have decided to offload in recent days, after Jean-Claire Todibo's permanent move to Nice and the release of Matheus Fernandes.

However, Goal understands that Firpo's former club Real Betis will receive 15% of the final transfer fee, and Barca will only be allowed to reinvest €3,2 million in new players due to La Liga restrictions.

Leicester complete transfer of Daka

Patson Daka has completed his transfer to Leicester City from Red Bull Salzburg, with the fee thought to be around £23 million.

The Zambian forward, who scored 34 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions last season, has signed a 5-year contract at the King Power Stadium.

A striker had been high on Brendan Rodgers' priority list this summer, and 22-year-old Daka emerged as Leicester's number 1 target despite Celtic's Odsonne Edouard also being linked to the club.

Daka is the latest Salzburg star to complete a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool trio Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino having all turned out for the Austrian club.

He featured alongside Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland while the Norwegian striker was playing for Salzburg during the first half of the 2019-2020 campaign.

Daka was the Austrian Bundesliga's top scorer last term with 27 goals in 28 games, and he was named the league's Player of the Season after helping Salzburg win their eighth straight title.

Tavares set for Arsenal medical

Arsenal have agreed a deal with Benfica for Nuno Tavares, with the left-back set to undergo a medical with the Gunners ahead of a £7 million transfer.

The two clubs have been locked in talks over Tavares for the past few days, with the Gunners keen to bring him in as cover for Kieran Tierney.

After a slight hitch in negotiations on Tuesday, a deal for the 21-year-old has now been reached.

Arsenal have agreed to pay an initial fee of around £7 million for the young defender. That fee could rise, however, by a further £1,5 million should certain clauses be met during Tavares' stay in north London.

The Benfica youngster will now undergo a medical before finalising his switch to Emirates Stadium.

Tavares has scored once and contributed four assists in 30 appearances for Benfica since making his debut in August 2019.

Bertrand agrees deal with Leicester



Ryan Bertrand has agreed a deal to join Leicester City.

The 31-year-old former England international has signed a 2-year deal, with an option for a third, having become a free agent at the end of June after 7 years at Southampton.

The move will reunite Bertrand with Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers, who was the Chelsea youth coach as Bertrand came through the club's academy.

Leicester sign Boubakary Soumare

Leicester City have completed the signing of Boubakary Soumare from Lille for a fee believed to be worth around £17 million.

The midfielder has signed a 5-year contract running until 2026, taking Leicester's spending to £40 million in the last 3 days.

The 22-year-old Soumare made 40 appearances in all competitions last season, including 8 in the Europa League, as the side won the French title.

Moses completes Spartak move

Chelsea have confirmed that winger Victor Moses has completed a permanent switch to Spartak Moscow, ending his 9-year association with the Blues.

The 30-year-old joined the Premier League club from Wigan Athletic back in 2012 although hasn't played for them since October 2018, with him having been shipped out on a number of loan moves over the years.

He has, however, now left Chelsea on a permanent basis, signing a contract with Spartak until 2023.

Moses' last match for Chelsea came in the 2018-2019 season, when he appeared as a second half substitute in a 3-1 Europa League win over BATE Borisov.

In total, Moses made 128 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, scoring 18 goals. He also won the Premier League, FA Cup and 2 Europa League titles during his spell as a Blues player.

Wolverhampton sign Trincao on season-long loan

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the arrival of Barcelona winger Francisco Trincao on a season-long loan for the 2021-2022 campaign, with a further option to buy the Blaugrana starlet next summer.

The Portugal international, a member of Ronald Koeman's Copa del Rey-winning squad last season, enjoyed a busy season at Camp Nou following his arrival from Braga in 2020.

Now however he will spend the upcoming campaign at Molineux, as Bruno Lage's outfit look to strengthen their place in the Premier League following Nuno Espirito Santo's exit.

Having come through the youth ranks at Sporting Braga as a teenager, Trincao caught the eye as a member of Portugal's U19 European Championship-winning side in 2018.

He subsequently transitioned to the senior ranks at the Primeira Liga outfit and helped them to the 2020 Taca da Liga.

Those performances earned the attention of Barcelona who secured his switch last summer. He made 42 appearances across all competitions for the Blaugrana as they secured a top 4 finish and won the Copa del Rey under Koeman.

PSG sign Hakimi on 5-year deal

Wing-back Achraf Hakimi has joined Paris Saint-Germain from Inter Milano on a 5-year contract.

The 22-year-old arrives at the Parc des Princes having won the 2020-2021 Serie A title under Antonio Conte in his only season at Inter last term.

The Morocco international was also a transfer target for Champions League winners Chelsea, who had matched PSG's £51,3 million transfer offer for the defender. The fee that the French club will pay for Hakimi could rise to £60 million.

Hakimi completes his move to PSG following an impressive 2020-2021 season in which he made 37 Serie A appearances for Inter, scored 7 times and made 10 assists on their way to their first Italian top flight title in 11 years.

Inter need to recoup around €100 million on player sales due to heavy financial losses, which were part of the reason behind Conte's decision to quit as manager last month.

Hakimi joined Inter from Real Madrid for €40 million last summer after he spent 2 seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund between 2018 and 2020.

Silva to Leipzig on blockbuster deal

According to Germany's Bild, the final transfer fee for the scorer of 28 league goals last season turns out to be quite the bargain. Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that RasenBallSport Leipzig will pay Eintracht Frankfurt €23 million to secure the services of the Portuguese attacker.

The deal, which brings the Frankfurt striker to Saxony on a contract through 2026, reportedly does include performance bonuses. As a result, Eintracht may collect closer to €30 million if the 25-year-old can put similar production numbers as he did in an Adler tricot.

Silva turned in a decent 2019-2020 campaign, netting 16 times across all competitions. Naturally, this was nothing compared to what he accomplished in the campaign just completed.

28 league goals and 10 assists left him with a most impressive total of 38 scorer points. Taking Pokal play into account, Silva was directly involved in over 50% of Eintracht's goals.

PSG confirm Sergio Ramos signing



Paris Saint-Germain have announced Sergio Ramos has joined them on a 2-year contract.

The World Cup-winning centre-half has committed to terms at Parc des Princes through to 2023 after leaving Real Madrid as a free agent.

He is now 35 years of age, but will be looking to add to an enviable medal collection after linking up with the Ligue 1 giants.

Ramos had been looking to extend his association with Real before being cast adrift. He had spent 16 years with the La Liga heavyweights, having joined them from FC Sevilla in 2005.

Ramos made 671 appearances for Madrid, scoring 101 goals while collecting 5 domestic titles and 4 Champions League crowns.

PSG are now buying into that vast experience, with a man that has 180 international caps to his name with Spain determined to help the French outfit end their long wait for European glory.

Lokonga set for Arsenal medical

Arsenal have agreed a deal in principle worth up to £18 million with Anderlecht for the transfer of Albert Lokonga.

The Gunners have been locked in talks with the Belgium club for weeks over the 21-year-old and have seen previous bids rejected.

But an agreement has now been reached, with the midfielder set to be given the green light to undergo his medical.

Arsenal have agreed an initial fee believed to be around £15 million for Lokonga.

That is a fee that will increase, however, due to several add-ons that will be included in the final deal.

In all, Arsenal are expected to pay close to £18 million for the young midfielder, should those add-ons and bonuses be met.

Norwich sign Lees-Melou

Norwich City have signed French midfielder Pierre Lees-Melou from Nice for a fee of £3,5 million, which could rise by a further £1 million in potential add-ons.

The 28-year-old former Nice vice-captain has signed a 3-year deal - with a one-year option - at Carrow Road.

After completing his switch, Lees-Melou revealed he sought advice from Nice team-mate Morgan Schneiderlin - who played for Southampton and Manchester United - and Queens Park Rangers defender Yoann Barbet about moving to England.

Lees-Melou made over 150 appearances in Ligue 1 during his time with Dijon and Nice, where he played in the Champions League and Europa League.

Leverkusen set to sign Bakker

Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly set to complete the signing of 21-year-old left-back Mitchel Bakker from Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Dutch publication Algemeen Dagblad, the 21-year-old defender will sign a 5-year deal with "Die Werkself".

The Dutch U21 international featured 40 times for PSG last season, notching up 2 assists.

He made the switch to France from Ajax on a free transfer in 2019.

Dortmund agree personal terms with Malen

Borussia Dortmund have made a breakthrough in negotiations to sign Donyell Malen from PSV Eindhoven, according to Ruhr Nachrichten and Eindhovens Dagblad.

The two clubs are said to have agreed on a transfer fee of €30 million, excluding potential add-ons, for the 22-year-old Dutchman.

Malen is expected to sign a 5-year deal with Dortmund and could link up with his new team-mates at the club's training camp in Bad Ragaz.

The Dutch international is capable of playing as a winger and up front. He has featured a total of 116 times for PSV with 55 goals and 24 assists to his name.

Arsenal agree deal to sign Ben White

Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Ben White for a fee believed to be around £50 million.

Sky Sports News reported Arsenal had a £40 million bid rejected in June with another move for a price of £47 million subsequently rejected.

But with discussions continuing into July, the two Premier League clubs seem to have reached a settlement.

There is still work to be done before the transfer can be finalised.

The 23-year-old is expected to take a medical when he returns from holiday on 26 July.

White helped Brighton survive relegation and finish 16th in the top flight with the joint-best defence in the bottom half of the league (46 goals conceded).

The Gunners are looking to bolster their defence after finishing eighth in the Premier League and missing out on European football for the first time since the 1994-1995 season.

Lazio agree deal to re-sign Anderson

West Ham have confirmed they have agreed a deal to sell Felipe Anderson to Lazio for an undisclosed fee.

In 2018, Anderson moved to West Ham from Lazio in a then club-record £36 million deal, signing a 4-year contract.

Initially, he was a regular for West Ham, making 36 Premier League appearances in 2018-2019, but he fell out of favour upon David Moyes' return to the club as manager.

The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at FC Porto where he played only 10 times in all competitions, while the Hammers were challenging for a top 4 place under Moyes.

Anderson leaves West Ham having scored 12 goals in 73 appearances across all competitions for the London club.

Everton to sign Townsend

Andros Townsend is undergoing a medical at Everton ahead of completing his move to Goodison Park on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old has been without a team since his deal at Crystal Palace expired in late June.

Townsend and new Everton manager Rafa Benitez worked together at Newcastle between March and June 2016 but could not avoid the Magpies' relegation to the Championship.

The winger spent the second half of the 2015-2016 season at St. James' Park and scored 4 goals in 13 appearances before Palace triggered his £13 million release clause in July.

He has spent the past 5 years in south London, scoring 16 goals in 185 appearances.

Gray set to undergo Everton medical

Bayer Leverkusen winger Demarai Gray is expected to undergo a medical at Everton on Tuesday.

The former Birmingham City winger joined Leverkusen on an 18-month contract from Leicester City in January but has scored just once in the Bundesliga since moving to Germany.

The 25-year-old is set to undergo a medical at Everton's Finch Farm training ground on Tuesday ahead of a £1,5 million move to the Toffees.

Grujic joins Porto on permanent deal



Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has joined FC Porto on a permanent deal.

Grujic spent the 2020-2021 season on loan with the Portuguese side, making 39 appearances and scoring 2 goals.

Liverpool were understood to value Grujic - who was part of their pre-season training camp in Austria - at around £13 million.

The Serbia international was Jurgen Klopp's first signing at Liverpool after replacing Brendan Rodgers as manager.

He agreed a move to Anfield in January 2016 and arrived at the club from Red Star Belgrade later that year.

However, Grujic failed to establish himself in Klopp's first team and made just 16 appearances for Liverpool during his 5 years at the club.

Gollini joins Tottenham on loan

Tottenham Hotspur have signed Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini on a season-long loan, with the option to make it a permanent deal.

The 26-year-old Italian becomes Spurs' first signing of the summer under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo and is expected to challenge Hugo Lloris for the number 1 spot.

Spurs have an option to buy Gollini on a permanent deal for £13 million if he plays a certain number of games in the upcoming season, according to Sky in Italy.

Gollini, previously part of the Manchester United youth system, has senior experience in English football having made 20 appearances for Aston Villa in the Championship on loan from Hellas Verona in the 2016-2017 season.

Since joining Atalanta in a permanent deal in June 2018, Gollini has made 108 appearances in all competitions, including 10 appearances in the Champions League over the last 2 seasons.

He played 32 appearances last season as Atalanta finished third in Serie A and were runners-up in the Coppa Italia.

Tottenham announce Gil transfer

Tottenham Hotspur have signed winger Bryan Gil from FC Sevilla, with Erik Lamela joining the Spanish side in a swap-plus-cash deal.

Spurs will also pay Sevilla £21,6 million for Gil, according to Sky in Italy.

The 20-year-old has signed a 5-year contract at Spurs, while Lamela has joined Sevilla on a 3-year deal.

Gil, who has 3 caps for Spain but was not included in their EURO 2020 squad, spent last season on loan at Eibar, where he scored 4 goals and registered 3 assists as the club were relegated from La Liga.

After coming through the youth system at Sevilla, Gil made 21 appearances for the Andalusian side in all competitions with his only goal coming in the Europa League in November 2019.

He also enjoyed a loan spell at Leganes in the second half of the 2019-2020 season.

Lamela's departure ends his 8-year spell with Spurs, who signed him from AS Roma in August 2013 for a then club-record fee of £30 million.

He was one of a number of players signed by the club with the money raised from the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid.

Lamela, who struggled with injuries throughout his Spurs career, made 257 appearances in all competitions, scoring 37 goals.

The Argentina international contributed 4 goals and one assist in 35 games in all competitions for Tottenham last season, including the Premier League Goal of the Season for his spectacular Rabona in the north London derby.

The goal against Arsenal was not the first time he had scored a Rabona for Spurs having pulled off the skill in a Europa League win over Asteras Tripolis at White Hart Lane in October 2014.

Palace sign Andersen from Lyon

Crystal Palace have completed the signing of defender Joachim Andersen from Olympique Lyon on a 5-year deal.

The 25-year-old centre-back spent last season in the Premier League on loan at Fulham, before featuring for Denmark as they reached the EURO 2020 semi-finals.

Andersen becomes Palace's 4th signing under new manager Patrick Vieira, who replaced Roy Hodgson earlier this summer.

Leverkusen agree personal terms with Azmoun

Bayer Leverkusen are edging closer to the signing of Sardar Azmoun from Zenit Sankt Petersburg.

According to Sport1, the Bundesliga outfit have agreed personal terms with the 26-year-old forward and are close to concluding a deal worth €14 million plus bonuses with Zenit.

The 26-year-old Iranian international has made a total of 85 appearances in a Zenit shirt, scoring 54 goals.

He made the switch to Zenit from Rubin Kazan in 2019 and has one year left on his contract.

West Ham sign Areola on loan

West Ham have completed the signing of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola on a season-long loan, which includes an option to buy.

The 28-year-old, who has 3 France caps, spent last season in the Premier League with Fulham and, although he was unable to stop them from being relegated, his performances were enough to be named as the club's Player of the Year.

Areola has also had loan spells with Real Madrid and Villarreal, and arrives at the London Stadium as a champion in both France and Spain as well as being part of France's World Cup-winning squad in 2018.
