Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has confirmed the first two signings of the summer transfer window for Los Colchoneros, which will add defensive depth to their squad.
Speaking on Cadena Cope (via Marca), Simeone confirmed that two central defenders would be arriving.
Soyuncu will arrive from Leicester City on a free, and is expected to compete for a spot, in a deal that has been much talked about.
Meanwhile Uruguayan centre-back Santiago Mourino will arrive from Racing Club de Montevideo. The 21-year-old, who is expected to leave on loan, is considered more of a long-term project at the position.
Soyuncu will add to Simeone's options in central defence, which currently consist of Stefan Savic, Reinildo Mandava, Jose Maria Gimenez and Mario Hermoso, although Axel Witsel has filled in there on occasion.

Bensebaini joins Dortmund on a free
Borussia Dortmund made their first summer signing official on Monday afternoon.
Algerian left-back Ramy Bensebaini's move to Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer is finally through. The 28-year-old signs a new 4-year-deal with the Westphalian giants that will take him through the end of the 2027-2028 campaign.
With an estimated market worth of €20 million, Dortmund have secured one of the most valuable Bundesliga professionals available free-of-charge this off-season.

Real Madrid agree deal for Bellingham
Real Madrid have agreed to sign England midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee of £88,5 million.
Dortmund say the figure for Bellingham could surpass £115 million with add-ons, making him the most expensive British player ever at the age of just 19.
The German club, whose website crashed when they released the news, seemed to confirm Bellingham will sign a 6-year deal at Santiago Bernabeu in their statement.
Bellingham, who moved to Borussia Dortmund from Championship side Birmingham in 2020, had interest from Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League, but Real appear to have won the race for his signature.
The midfielder was named the Bundesliga's Player of the Year for the past season as Dortmund agonisingly missed out on the title to rivals Bayern Munchen on the final day.
Bellingham has 24 caps and one goal for England since making his international debut against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley Stadium in November 2020.

Liverpool complete transfer of Mac Allister
Liverpool have completed the signing of World Cup-winning midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Argentina international, who was one of the stars of Qatar 2022, makes the move to Anfield for what is understood to be for an initial fee of around £35 million. Sources suggest it could rise to £55 million.
Mac Allister, who was signed from Argentinos Juniors, spent 4 years at Brighton, including 2 loan spells back in his homeland.
The 24-year-old's arrival is likely to begin what looks set to be a busy summer at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp looking to freshen up a side that missed out on Champions League qualification this season.

Villa signs Tielemans
Aston Villa have announced they have agreed a deal to sign Tielemans on a free transfer, with his Leicester contract set to expire at the end of this month.
He has been with the Foxes since 2019 and has clocked 195 appearances for the club, although he was unable to prevent their relegation this season.
Perhaps his greatest moment came when he scored the winner in the FA Cup Final in 2021.
Leicester have dropped into the Championship after finishing 18th in 2022-2023, and are set to see a number of major stars leave.
Tielemans is one of the first out of the door, but he has maybe surprised some in choosing to move to Villa, as he has previously been linked with Arsenal.

Al Hilal to sign Neves
Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed a £47 million fee with Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal to sell midfielder Ruben Neves.
Personal terms are not expected to be a problem and Neves is open to the move after a potential transfer to FC Barcelona stalled.
The 26-year-old, whose contract at Molineux Stadium is due to expire next summer, had also been been linked with Manchester United in recent transfer windows.
The Portugal midfielder scored 6 goals and registered one assist in 35 Premier League appearances for Wolves during the 2022-2023 Premier League season.
He arrived at Wolverhampton from FC Porto in July 2017 and has played 253 times for the club.

Chelsea confirm Nkunku signing
Chelsea have confirmed the £52 million transfer of France forward Christopher Nkunku from RasenBallsport Leipzig.
Nkunku, who will officially become a Chelsea player on 1 July, has agreed to a 6-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
Sky Sports News reported in October that Chelsea were willing to pay above the 25-year-old's €60 million release clause, which came into effect this summer, but it appears they have now chosen to meet that fee.
Nkunku, who scored 16 goals and provided 6 assists in 25 Bundesliga appearances this season, can play as a centre forward and in the number 10 position.
Juventus finalised Milik deal
Sky Sport Italia claim Juventus have concluded their agreement with Olympique Marseille to buy Arkadiusz Milik for €6 million plus bonuses.
The striker had joined on loan last summer with an option to buy at the end of the season, but the Bianconeri asked for a discount on the €7 million fee.
It seems as if they managed to get a small cut on the costs, but probably less of an impressive deal than they had been hoping for.
The fee will instead be €6 million plus another €1 million in performance-related bonuses.
Milik made 39 competitive appearances for Juventus this season, contributing 9 goals and one assist.
Lazio close to Berardi deal
Sportitalia report that Lazio are on the verge of signing Italy international Domenico Berardi from Lazio for €20 million plus bonuses.
According to their transfer specialist Rudy Galletti, the negotiations are at an advanced stage between the clubs, while personal terms were already agreed with the player last week.
He was requested specifically by coach Maurizio Sarri following their qualification for the Champions League.
The right-sided winger turns 29-year-old in August and has spent his entire career with Sassuolo from the youth academy to the present day.
He was purchased in a co-ownership deal by Juventus in 2013, but remained at the Mapei Stadium and refused the transfer to Turin.
Even with injury problems this season, Berardi still contributed 12 goals and 7 assists in 26 Serie A appearances.

City agree deal for Kovacic
Manchester City have agreed a £30 million deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
The fee is understood to be worth an initial £25 million guaranteed plus £5 million in performance-related add-ons. A formal announcement of Kovacic joining last season's Treble winners is expected soon.
Kovacic has been at Stamford Bridge since joining from Real Madrid - initially on loan - in the summer of 2018.
The Croatia international has won 4 major trophies during his time at Chelsea - including his 4th Champions League in 2021 - while going on to make 221 appearances for the club.
Tottenham reach agreement with Empoli for Vicario
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to officially agreeing on a deal to sign goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli as per multiple reports on Wednesday evening.
Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that an agreement in principle has been reached between the two clubs, involving a fee of €20 million plus bonuses, with Empoli expecting a formal, written offer to be submitted by Thursday morning.
A €20 million move would make Vicario the most expensive sale in Empoli's history.
The 26-year-old has been touted as one of the best-performing Italian goalkeepers over the course of 2022-2023, lining up on 32 occasions for Empoli in Serie A and the Coppa Italia, conceding just 41 for the season.
Vicario joined Empoli 2 years ago in July 2021, initially signing on loan, before making his move permanent the following summer.
Since then, the Udinese academy graduate has gone on to make over 70 competitive appearances for the club.
Ndicka joins Roma on 5-year deal
AS Roma have officially announced the arrival of Ivorian defender Evan Ndicka, who has signed a 5-year contract with the club.

The Ivorian centre-back has chosen the number 5 shirt in Rome and will soon join the squad to start preparations for the coming season.

Fenerbahce confirm Dzeko signature
Edin Dzeko ends his 8 years in Serie A with a free transfer to Fenerbahce after his contract with Inter Milano ran down.
The Bosnia international was in Istanbul this morning to undergo a medical and finalise the details of the salary package, as confirmed by the Turkish team.
Despite starting in the Champions League Final against Manchester City, the 37-year-old was always unlikely to see a new contract offered to stay at Meazza.
Fenerbahce were prepared to give him a 2-year deal, said to be worth €4,5 million per season net, plus another €1 million in performance-related bonuses.
According to Fanatik, Dzeko and his agents will also pocket a €5 million signing-on fee.
The former VfL Wolfsburg and Manchester City striker came to Italy for AS Roma in the summer of 2015 and remained there until his move to Inter in 2021, when he was effectively a replacement for Chelsea-bound Romelu Lukaku.
Between the two clubs, he amassed 107 goals and 50 assists in 268 Serie A appearances.

Atletico signs Azpilicueta
Atletico Madrid appear to have reached an agreement to bring in Chelsea veteran Cesar Azpilicueta.
The 33-year-old defender was hotly linked with FC Barcelona last summer, but after electing to stay at Chelsea, appears set on returning to Spain this summer.
Fabrizio Romano claims that a deal is done, and provided Azpilicueta himself gives the green light, then a free transfer will be completed.
Versatile, solid and a leader, Azpilicueta will be a smart addition on a free deal. Romano says his contract will run for 2 years, taking him to the age of 35.
Last season Azpilicueta lost importance for Chelsea, starting just 19 games and appearing 32 times, for a total of 1,828 minutes.

He becomes the Premier League club's first signing since the appointment of manager Andoni Iraola following the sacking of Gary O'Neil.
Kluivert, the son of former Holland striker Patrick Kluivert, began his career at Ajax before moving to Serie A in 2018.

Jackson completes medical ahead of Chelsea move
Nicolas Jackson has completed his medical ahead of a move to Chelsea from Villarreal.
The Senegal forward has a €35 million release clause in his Villarreal contract, while personal terms are not expected to be a problem.
Jackson emerged as a key target for Chelsea this summer as they look to refresh their forward line having already secured the signature of Christopher Nkunku from Leipzig.
In all competitions last season, Jackson scored 13 goals and provided 5 assists for Villarreal and official confirmation of his move to Stamford Bridge is expected in the coming days.
Chelsea have a desperate need to bring in a new number 9 this summer in a bid to resolve the goal-scoring issues that mean Diego Costa remains the last striker to score 20 goals in a season for the club - and that was 6 years ago.
Those problems came to a head last season when no player scored more than 9 goals as Chelsea slumped to 12th in the Premier League, exacerbating the desire to strengthen their forward line.

Newcastle to sign Tonali
Newcastle United are close to signing Italy midfielder Sandro Tonali from Serie A side AC Milan, according to his agent.
The 23-year-old is expected to sign a 6-year contract and complete his medical in the coming days.
Speaking to Italian media, Tonali's agent Giuseppe Riso said the transfer could be worth up to €80 million including add-ons.
He said final details are being agreed by both sides.
Tonali helped Milan win the Italian title in 2021-2022 and was part of the side which reached last season's Champions League semi-finals.
He is currently part of Italy's squad at the Under-21 European Championships.
Tonali developed through the ranks at Brescia and made his professional debut for them in Serie B at 17.
Brescia were promoted to Serie A in 2018-2019 and, while the club were relegated the following season, Tonali made his Italy debut during the campaign when he came on as a substitute against Liechtenstein in October 2019.
He joined AC Milan on loan in the summer of 2020 and, after making the move permanent the following year, scored 5 goals in 36 top flight appearances as the club won the Italian title in 2022.
Tonali scored twice in 34 Serie A outings as the San Siro side finished 4th last season, while he made 12 appearances in the Champions League before Milan were beaten by rivals Inter in the semi-finals.

But he played just 32 games for the club in all competitions, scoring 2 goals in 23 Premier League appearances.
Chelsea did not disclose how much Al-Hilal have paid for Koulibaly - but reports suggest it could be as much as £20 million.

Thuram was wanted by both Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan but ultimately chose to join Inter, who have been working on a deal for him since the World Cup in Qatar.
