am instalat o ver de linux in VMachine il booteaza dar cand ii dau comanda "pppoe conf" imi apare ceva de genu {}{[][[)()(;/"{}"/;"{} ]{}{}{}{0((": sau imi spune fie ca e reteaua cazuta fie ca nu poate sa trim pachetele pppoe am incercat si pedar fara succes

Configurezi reteaua pt masina virtuala de la edit machine preferences sa mearga pe NAT, iar reteaua din linuxul virtual o configurezi ca dhcp si atat. Merge garantat, testat , ....

poate VMX builder şi VMware player. mă rog înţelesăi.
1 la mână : te sfătuiesc să foloseşti Vmware server. Este gratis. Iei serial gratis de la vmware de pe site.
2 la mână : Când faci maşina virtuală propriu zis, te întreabă ce fel de conexiune să existe între maşina gazdă şi cea oaspete.

se gasesc o gramada de distributii de linux preinstalate (ex. debian, gentoo, slackware, ...) trebuie doar sa dai search dupa nume si gasesti acolo masina virtuala preinstalata gata de play-at in Vmvare Player.

M-am uitat un pic si vad ca e o distributie pt audit si gasit security holes si alte chestii de astea de securitate, nu tocmai o distrib pt desktop. Daca vrei o distro mica pt desktop incearca arch linux, vector linux, zenwalk linux, toate bazate pe slackware.distributia se numeste backtrack 2 l-am ales pt ca e mai mic instalatam incercat comanda pppoe setup in live cd (sa fie asta cauza?) si n-a mers
Nici knoppix nu cred ca ia mult instalat. Merita sa incerci archlinux parerea mea.
