Berizzo named as new Sevilla coach
FC Sevilla have announced the appointment of Eduardo Berizzo as their new head coach.
The 47-year-old has reached an agreement over a 2-year contract and will finalise his move to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in the coming days.
Berizzo, who guided Celta Vigo to the Europa League semi-finals in 2016-2017, replaces Jorge Sampaoli, who has taken over as head coach of Argentina.

Griezmann signs Atletico contract extension
Antoine Griezmann has signed a new contract at Atletico Madrid running until 2022 to further underline his commitment to the La Liga club.
The forward has agreed to a deal that will reportedly see his wages doubled and keep him at the club for the next 5 years, while it is believed he will continue to be subject to a €100 million release clause.
Griezmann offered an apology to fans following persistent speculation over whether he would leave the club and insists he is happy to spend "one more season" in the Spanish capital.
Manchester United were heavily linked with a blockbuster move for Griezmann and the France international encouraged their interest by declaring he was ready to leave Atletico in the immediate aftermath of the season, rating a switch to Old Trafford at "6 out of 10".
However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport upholding Atleti's transfer ban for breaching FIFA regulations on the signing of youth players appeared to prompt a change of heart from the 26-year-old at the start of this month.
With Diego Simeone's side unable to register any new players until January, Griezmann tweeted: "Now more than ever Atleti".
The former Real Sociedad man scored 26 goals and supplied 12 assists for Atletico in 2016-2017, while his overall record for the club stands at 83 goals in 160 appearances.

Atletico release Cerci
Atletico Madrid have officially released former Italy attacker Alessio Cerci on a free transfer.
Cerci joined Atleti from FC Torino in the summer of 2014 for €15 million but played just 11 times for Los Rojiblancos in a 3-year spell that included loan spells at AC Milan and Genoa.
Consequently, the decision has been taken not to extend the 30-year-old's contract.
"Alessio Cerci and our club have reached an agreement for the termination of the contract that had linked both parties since 1 September 2014", read a statement on Atletico's official website.
"Our club wants to wish Alessio luck in his next professional endeavour."

Bakambu renews Villarreal deal
Villarreal forward Cedric Bakambu has signed a 2-year contract extension that commits him to the La Liga club until 2022.
The DR Congo international scored 11 times in 26 appearances in Spain's top flight last season, with Premier League duo West Ham and Newcastle reportedly interested in his services.
But the 26-year-old will remain with Fran Escriba's side, who secured a place in the Europa League group stages with a fifth place finish in La Liga last term.
Bakambu joined the Yellow Submarine from Bursaspor in August 2015 and has scored 33 times across 84 matches in all competitions.

Depor confirm Adrian Lopez loan
Deportivo La Coruna have agreed a season-long loan deal for FC Porto striker Adrian Lopez, club president Tino Fernandez has confirmed.
The 29-year-old has spent the past 2 seasons on loan at Villarreal, but has managed only 6 La Liga goals across the two campaigns as he played a bit-part role.
Lopez spent 5 years with Depor at the beginning of his career before joining Atletico Madrid, with whom he won the 2014 title and despite moving permanently to Porto that summer, has failed to play regular football at Estadio Dragao.
Betis announce Boudebouz deal
Real Betis have completed the signing of playmaker Ryad Boudebouz from Montpellier in a deal believed to be in the region of €7 million.
The 27-year-old has signed a 4-year contract at Estadio Benito Villamarin and becomes the club's eighth summer signing.
Los Verdiblancos, not to be outdone in videos of new signings by city rivals FC Sevilla, announced the deal with a social media video with the soundtrack of Abba's "Voulez-Vous".
Boudebouz joins Jordi Amat, Antonio Barragan, Andres Guardado, Victor Camarasa, Sergio Leon, Zouhair Feddal and Cristian Tello as new arrivals at Betis this summer.

Ronaldo receives 5-match ban
Cristiano Ronaldo has been banned for 5 matches after being sent off and then pushing the referee in Real Madrid's 3-1 Supercopa de Espana first leg victory over FC Barcelona on Sunday.
The Portugal star played out a dramatic cameo at Camp Nou, coming off the bench to score a stunner before getting booked for removing his shirt in celebration.
He took a tumble in the box just 2 minutes later and earned a second yellow card for an apparent dive, but Ronaldo allowed his anger to get the better of him as he then pushed referee Ricardo de Burgos.
The 32-year-old Portugal international could have been suspended for a maximum of 12 games, but the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has opted to impose a 5-match ban.
Ronaldo and Madrid have 10 days to appeal against the sanction.
Should the ban stand, the star forward will miss the second leg of the Supercopa, followed by La Liga matches away to Deportivo La Coruna, at home to Valencia and Levante and away to Real Sociedad.
Rico extends Sevilla stay
Goalkeeper Sergio Rico has committed his future to FC Sevilla until 2021 after agreeing a 2-year extension to his existing deal.
The 23-year-old, a product of Los Rojiblancos' youth system, is highly rated and was linked with Liverpool as recently as last month.
But, having last penned fresh terms in January 2016, has now made his long-term plans clear by signing up to the La Liga club for the next 4 years.
Rico has won 2 Europa League titles with Sevilla and earned his first Spain cap last June.
Marca reports that Rico's new contract includes a rise in his release clause from €30 million to €40 million.

Ronaldo joins Cantona, Di Canio & Suarez in bumper ban brigade
Cristiano Ronaldo is set to miss 5 matches at the start of the 2017-2018 season, but the Real Madrid superstar has escaped relatively lightly compared to some of the bans handed out to football's most famous bad boys.
Ronaldo came off the bench to score in a 3-1 Supercopa de Espana victory against FC Barcelona at Camp Nou on Sunday, picking up a yellow card for removing his shirt in celebration and then a second booking for simulation, before pushing the referee.
The 32-year-old striker has 10 business days in which to appeal, but, should the sanction stand, he will miss the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, followed by La Liga games against Deportivo La Coruna, Valencia, Levante and Real Sociedad.
If the Portugal international considers himself hard done by, perhaps he should revisit some of the other hefty suspensions imposed for on-field misbehaviour.
Eric Cantona (1995) - 9 months
The Manchester United talisman narrowly avoided a custodial sentence and endured a lengthy enforced absence from competitive action for his spectacular, kung-fu kick assault on spectator Matthew Simmons after being sent off against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in 1995.
Paolo Di Canio (1998) - 11 matches
After being sent off while playing for Sheffield Wednesday against Arsenal in September 1998, mercurial Italian striker Di Canio pushed referee Paul Alcock, who subsequently stumbled to the floor in comic fashion.
Luis Suarez (2010) - 7 matches
During his time at Ajax, Suarez received a 7-match ban from the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) for biting PSV's Otman Bakkal.
Luis Suarez (2011) - 8 matches
The Uruguay international was sanctioned by the Football Association after being accused of racially abusing Patrice Evra in a match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield in October 2011.
Joey Barton (2012) - 12 matches
Up against his former club Manchester City, QPR's Barton saw red for elbowing Carlos Tevez and then lashed out at Sergio Aguero and squared up to Vincent Kompany as he left the pitch, the FA taking a particularly dim view of those antics.
Luis Suarez (2013) - 10 matches
Suarez incurred the wrath of the FA again, this time earning a 10-game ban for appearing to bite Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic at Stamford Bridge in April 2013.
Luis Suarez (2014) - 4 months
This time it was FIFA who came down hard on Suarez, imposing a 4-month ban from any football activity and a 9-game international suspension, after the striker sunk his teeth into Italy's Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup in Brazil. That did not stop FC Barcelona from splashing the cash to lure the marksman away from Anfield.

Boateng leaves Las Palmas
Kevin-Prince Boateng has left Las Palmas by mutual agreement, the La Liga club have announced.
The former AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder had 3 years to run on his deal with Las Palmas, having signed a contract extension in May.
But Las Palmas attributed the 30-year-old's departure to "personal reasons of an irreversible character".
Boateng joined the Canary Islanders last season and scored 10 goals in 28 La Liga appearances.
German newspaper Bild claim Eintracht Frankfurt hope to bring the ex-Hertha Berlin, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke man back to the Bundesliga, with the club's head coach Niko Kovac declaring Boateng is "on our radar".

Getafe sign Montero on loan
Jefferson Montero has joined Getafe from Swansea City on a season-long loan deal.
The Ecuador international signed a new contract at the Premier League club last September but then struggled for game-time in an injury-hit campaign.
Montero's most recent appearance for Swansea came against Manchester United in April, when he came off the bench only to succumb to injury 7 minutes later.
Joining Getafe represents a return to La Liga for the winger, who has previously had spells with Villarreal, Levante and Real Betis.
Las Palmas sign Remy
Loic Remy has joined Las Palmas on a free transfer from Chelsea, signing a 2-year deal.
The France international signed for Chelsea in 2014, but started just 9 Premier League games in 2 seasons before enduring an injury-hit loan spell at Crystal Palace in 2016-2017.
But Antonio Conte's men have now released Remy from his contract, which had one year to run, allowing him to join the La Liga club.
The forward joins Las Palmas as they sit bottom of the league table, losing their first 2 games of the season and scoring just once.
Campbell returns to Real Betis on loan
Arsenal forward Joel Campbell is "happy and proud" to be back at Real Betis after re-joining his former club on a season-long loan.
The Costa Rica international scored 2 goals in 28 appearances for the La Liga side in 2012-2013, one of several stints away from the Emirates Stadium.
Further loan spells with Olympiacos, Villarreal and Sporting Lisbon have failed to convince Arsene Wenger of his suitability for a first-team spot at Arsenal with the 25-year-old again deemed surplus to requirements.
Campbell, whose contract expires at the end of the season, becomes the second Arsenal player to re-join a Spanish club on deadline day following Lucas Perez's return to Deportivo La Coruna on loan.

Isco signs new Real Madrid contract
Real Madrid have announced that Isco has signed a new 5-year contract, keeping him at the Santiago Bernabeu until June 2022.
The 25-year-old is set to earn €6 million per season and has a staggering €700 million release clause, according to reports in Spain.
A number of teams, including FC Barcelona and Bayern Munchen, were linked with a move for the Spain international as he entered the final year of his deal.
However, an impressive run of form in the first-team towards the end of 2016-2017 saw the playmaker cement his place in the plans of coach Zinedine Zidane and earn a renewal.
Isco has been an ever present in Madrid's team this season, playing in all 3 La Liga games and their 3-0 win over APOEL in the Champions League on Wednesday.
He has also been in fine form for Spain, scoring 3 goals in recent wins over Italy and Liechtenstein.
